THe show was a-ight. Phife made me a little sad at first, but then he brought his verse on Award Tour. I agree about the New Jack Swing tribute. Where was Today? My wife is a Big Bub fanatic(yes, big bub fanatics exist)and she just knew she was gonna hear: "him..me, him, me.. ooohh do ya really want.." No Redhead Kingpin(no FBI), hell, no Guy. It was cool that they honored Wild Style, and KRS never disappoints. Not perfect, but not a bad way to spend 2 hours, either. Oh, and isnt Ice-T a little old to be crip walkin? Let it go. just sayin.

Whodini still got it edit
[Edited 10/9/07 6:11am]
crip walkin' really has nothing 2 do with age it's just that it's so commercial these day's that all u see is the young folks doing it because of people like bow wow who really shouldn't even be crip walking..he ain't no crip that dance was made up by crips 4 crips...and if some of these rapper's and dancer's go n2 certain hood's doing it and get busted up,i bet u wouldn't see them doing it in their video's anymore...im just saying what i know is true

There really hasn't been any great female MC's beyond:

Salt n Pepa
Mc lyte
The Real Roxanne ( the sexy puerto rican, not that other Roxanne Shante )
Lil Kim
Yo Yo
Foxy- One good CD ( she doesn't rap about anything that matters)

* Sorry i forgot Queen Latifa

nothing at all about that girl is polished neutral

Neyo was pretty good but honestly i felt that Aaron Hall should have done it instead. Where the hell was he? Keyshia Cole looked very stiff...

I love me some Kool Moe Dee. When will he be honored? Next year I hope. I love missy but it's too soon for her to be honored. Next year i would like to se UTFO, Kool Moe Dee and Roxanne Shante!
[Edited 10/9/07 11:29am]

Are you serious about Roxanne Shante? She was terrible! Her voice was annoying. Don't give it to Roxanne Shante just to honor a woman. Give it to somebody that deserves the honor. Besides what did she contribute to hip hop culture or music?

I enjoyed it. They had me in my bed room singing. The highlight was Whodini. Especially the part when they broke it down the old school dances.
(The wooden leg, the wop, etc.) I like those female dancers they had, too. Especially when they were in the back hittin the TLC and the robocop during the New Jack Swing tribute.

Tweet and Keyshia Cole was lookin a hot mess though.

Heres a female rapper who should be inducted. Remember Sistah Soljah. Yes, her rap career was very short lived after she scared the government with her pro Black videos and songs (she was blacklisted), but she was important at her time.

Oh, I forgot, was Queen Latifah ever inducted? She wasn't always a "Covergirl".

i have to disagree with you on that. i do believe she made a contribution to rap and yes being female is part of it as it is still male dominated. i bet roxanne shante could take out Eve in a battle rap! she was pretty hard core in her day. even Missy gives her props.

Yeah, but has she warranted "Hip Hop Honor" status? I don't see it.

They probably included her because she's current.MOst of the other honorees have fanbases that are well into their 30's, and they prob figured that M.Elliot would draw a younger crowd/viewing audience.

40s even. I think Missy is the most significant female hip hop artist of the past 15 years easily. She has broken down alot of barriers in hip hop.
