I'm debating whether or not to catch a replay of this. I HATED Newjack Swing (it was the beginning of the end of any decent music) and they've already honored the real pioneers of hip-hop in the past. From what I'm reading here, I can skip this completely.

but i still coulnd't tell if Jalil was there and if he was he looks alot different Jailil was there and he looked the same, just older. Ecstacy sounded like he smoked too many Newports, though. THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. THe show was a-ight. Phife made me a little sad at first, but then he brought his verse on Award Tour. I agree about the New Jack Swing tribute. Where was Today? My wife is a Big Bub fanatic(yes, big bub fanatics exist)and she just knew she was gonna hear: "him..me, him, me.. ooohh do ya really want.." No Redhead Kingpin(no FBI), hell, no Guy. It was cool that they honored Wild Style, and KRS never disappoints. Not perfect, but not a bad way to spend 2 hours, either. Oh, and isnt Ice-T a little old to be crip walkin? Let it go. just sayin.
Whodini still got it edit [Edited 10/9/07 6:11am] A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

Yeah, it's damn shame. Back then, Hip-Hop, R&B, House, and Go-Go were all slammin'. Now we have... ummmm... well... Anyway, although the New Jack Swing tribute was cool and all, I couldn't help but notice the lack of it's performers. I mean yeah... Kool Moe Dee was there, but where was Aaron Hall, Keith Sweat, Heavy D, etc, etc, etc? I mean, they could've at least got Johnny Kemp up there. "He's a musician's musician..."

Its been a decade since her solo debut. Everytime I see this Hip Hop Honors show, it reminds me of how much I love hip hop. Yeah, but has she warranted "Hip Hop Honor" status? I don't see it. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

She started producing, guest starring around 94, I believe. Her debut was in 1997. Eh, I guess. I just don't see her in the same light as Rakim, Run DMC, and such. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

I didn't get 2 c the whole show, but I did see the Whodini tribute. They were daBOMB. I really enjoyed the old school dancing with Nelly and the other guy.
BTW, what happened to ecstacy? Did he try to buff up, or get fat? I really couldn't tell. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

T Pain sure can fuck up a classic!
I'm glad the younger viewers got to hear some real music by Whodini! I like Kool Moe Dee but he was a little Round! I'm a missy fan but she shouldn't be on the show yet, who is going to be honored next year T Pain? It was a discrace that the so called new jack artists weren't performing on the show. Where was Heavy D, Keith Sweat, Father Mc, red headed king pin, etc. What happend to Ectasy's voice? He used to have to perfect MC voice. Next year leave Keyshia Cole's ghetto ass off of the show please! I missed the Tribe tribute, how was it?
