Singer/Songwriter/Musician...the same? or not? I've heard many times "singers are not musicians". I'm sure most people equate "musician" with playing an instrument. However, isn't the voice an instrument? It needs to be trained and toned, finding the right pitch..etc... And a few people have also had the argument that a "singer" isn't anything without a songwriter. Could the same be said about a songwriter without a singer? Writing your own songs a must? What about interpretation.. Sometimes an incredible voice can convey a universal message without the actual singer writing a single lyric or note. Does it make it any less personal??? What do all of you think...

of course a Voice is a Instrument because it controls almost everything.it's always about the Song no matter who wrote it or sung it does it move you? Frank Sinatra wasn't much of a Composer but The Cat used His God-Given Instrument as well as anyone before or since IMHO.it's all apart of the Creative Process period.you don't have to write your own songs to be a Musical Genius,Legend,etc..it is Genius to putting something on a Song period be it written by the person or not IMHO.Billie Holiday didn't write alot but Damn did She leave something on the mind?? mistermaxxx
