If there´s one thing I´m ashamed of musicwise, then it´s the fact that I´ve really slept on JDilla and all his incredible music for so long until he died. Little did I know his music is exactly what I´d been missing in modern HipHop. I wish I could´ve appreciated him more while he was still here.
Now I have tons of his music and it´s just further proof to me of how ignorant and frustrated I was in the past couple of years. I also love his Japan album and the stuff he did with Common. Great guy, may he rest in eternal peace. What a slow and tragic death....dude finished his last album while he was still in hospital. Respect !

Yes, especially that track with JDavey. Actually I dig the whole album.

And sometimes it takes a while til you get hipped to certain music...I was a big Prince fan at the tender age of twelve, when Purple Rain and ATWIAD came out but I was also waaaaay too deep into Hip Hop , and slowly but surely HipHop became the only music I listened to,besides a little bit of Alexander O Neal and SOS Band and Funk....this happened because Prince became too "pop" for me. But then , one day, a good friend of mine made a mixtape for me , and I was a true Prince fan again, especially after seeing him live. But I was devastated for having missed shows like Lovesexy and SOTT, though I kinda liked a couple of songs...guess I was too young to appreciate the music.
These days, same thing happens with me and HipHop ...I am so frustrated that I kinda lose interest in it and that´s why I miss out on so many good releases...also, the internet,as good as it is , is causing an inflation on info and music...which on the one hand is good but on the other hand you lose orientation because there´s just SO MUCH out there if you´re willing to dig deep....from the past to the present, there are tons of songs and bands to discover.

anyway, enjoy Jay Dee and Gil Scott Heron, and look out for more good stuff.

By the way, we both seem to dig M.Rourke´s output as well wink

Check out Gil Scott-Heron & Brian Jackson's Bridges. That album is incredible.
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
