are they still trying to be in the late 1960's..?
If so.. Then... I think that Deep funk on 45's era is over at this point...Now if they are still jamming live and recording raw and analog..But with a little bit more going on than trying to sound exactly like the greatest late 60's soul funk tribute band in the world..Then Hell yeah ..I gotta pick this up ! | |

This was the sound (the same band!) that brought Amy Winehouse to stardom this year, so I don't think that's such a bad look. Plus, it's mostly in the arrangement: the fact that it's a real band with a horn section and Sharon Jones has the soul you don't associate with present day. | |

These guys are friends of mine from New York..I know their Deal pretty well.. I just think..They have started to spread themselves a little thin over the years... There's only so many variations you can play of meters and JB grooves.. But they Rock..and they are 100% True to what they do..so they get major Props ! | |
