Britney Shows 'More' in New Video

After months of bad news, Britney Spears is looking to make a positive splash with the first video off her upcoming album.

The clip for 'Gimme More' offers up Spears in a strip club with fishnet stockings and a leather vest, utilizing the pole and mirrors. Watching the sexed-up Britney from the distance at the bar is none other than Britney, this time dressed up as a good girl.

The video is grainy and hardly resembles the glossy clips like 'Toxic' that helped make the pop singer a video star. The video was put on sale on iTunes Friday and will officially premiere on MTV's 'Total Request Live' Monday.

PEOPLE, who previewed the video before its official debut, says Spears "handpicked" the video director, first-timer Jake Sarfaty. Spears' label confirms to PEOPLE that the video was Spears' "concept and her vision." It was shot over two days.

preview of the video appeared to get out early, popping up on PerezHilton.com in the early hours of Friday morning. Hilton had been linking out to YouTube and anyone doubting that the clip was official may have finally been convinced after it was pulled by 8AM ET Friday with a note on YouTube reading "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by RCA Records." Full versions of the video pop up across YouTube as well, but appear to be pulled just as quickly.

So what's the early verdict from music fans? Spears gets thumbs up and down. "It’s not that bad, her bod looks pretty good for a mother of 2," writes Mry on Perez. "Well it ain’t that bad, I expected worse. She’s still gonna make a s--tload of money off this thing. More power to her, I say," answers a poster nicknamed Tim.

Others aren't so kind. "This looks like it was shot in someone's basement and then she had a bunch of film school students edit it," writes Michelle on TMZ. "I was waiting for something to happen. Compared to her vids like 'Toxic' and 'Me Against the Music," this was really crap," writes Perez poster Colleen, while Ashley comments "at least if the whole comeback thing doesn’t work out, she always has a career as a stripper."




new announcements on the news is that her new album "Blackout" will be released early, 30 October instead of November. due to internet leaks.

The video isn't really that special. Basically just Britney dancing on a stripper pole.
But she looks good in the video..... in a slutty kinda way.

How does Jive not say "This doesn't work". I guess the song is a hit, so who cares. It seems like such a rough edit of an actual video. I'm totally confused by the Britney in a terrible blonde wig who we see in the "storyline" who is looking at a guy at one point and then laughing at him? I'm not convinced the video is done. If Jive was smart, they would try to edit in more of the "story" for it to make some sense. The song isn't bad, but the video will only be played once for spectacle and will not get any sort of rotation.

I don't know if it's something I ate or what but I felt the bile rise in my throat. Her real life image is so disgusting and unbalanced I just find her incredibly repulsive. There's nothing even a little bit hot or sexy about her. She can swing on a pole all night long and it's like a complete flatline.

I just think there is something quite vacant in her eyes... I don't know if there is something clinically wrong with her.. But I've always sensed this lack of depth or something missing... I can't explain it..

What's so sad about the whole situation is that her support options are so limited. It's just too bad there isn't somebody.. who has NOTHING to gain from helping her.. Some outsider... But it's just sad when her options are K-fed and her mom/dad--and there is just something about those two...I don't trust.

Then again.. I just don't think she wants any help..

I dunno.. It's just a sad situation.. like we are witnenssing a person possibly drowning, but we can't do anything about it.. even is somebody is trying to help her... It's like she would fight them.. and take them down, too.

I think that's why we are so interested in Britney actually. We want her to be saved....

And her is somebody who financially can afford the best of everything,but what good does it do her, really--if she's not interested in helping herself?

nobody ever liked her for her voice or her lyrics. the only thing she had going for her was a mediocre ability to dance and good producers.

after the mtv awards, and now this video of nothing more than multiple hair flips and brit brit walking in circles (not unlike a rabid dog) around a pole, i have no problem saying britney spears has reached the end of her career.

sure, there will be a few more sputters before she nose dives into oblivion, but for all real purposes her career is done.

britney is a stripped screw, alright.

watching her try to be "provocative" is like watching my clothes tumble in the dryer. sometimes the colors are pretty, but it's really the exact same damn thing every time. at least with the laundry, i get some clean clothes out of the deal.
