Home Schooled. ABC's Of Kid Soul Features rare funk and soul from kid groups in the 70's. I thought I was the only one who liked kid groups from the 70's. You know Michael, Jermaine, Tito, Marlon and Jackie, but what about Altyrone Deno Brown, Michael Washington, or Little Murray & the Mantics? Home Schooled, the 16th record in Numero's library of the lost, looks at the unknown side of the early 70s kid soul revolution. Beyond the Osmonds, the Five Stairsteps, and the Brighter Side of Darkness lay hundreds of aspiring children (or parents) bent on becoming the next Michael. Numero has selected seventeen of our favorites. A detailed and photo stuffed booklet breaks down the history of the phenomena, while the disc straddles the line between historical artifact and wild mix tape. http://www.amazon.com/Hom...318&sr=1-1 [Edited 10/5/07 11:18am] Straight Jacket Funk Affair

i have this!
some of the songs are truly funky and soulful, and some of them are just plain silly. some are both! i haven't had the time to give it a really thorough listen, but the few times i've spun it i've enjoyed it enough that i'd recommend it to anyone who's curious about the description of this comp. | |
