WHO SANG WITH JG ON WRAP MY BODY TIGHT REMIX? There's a remix of that song???? Where can I listen to IT? Wrap My Body is one of JG's best ballads and best executed vocal performances! Oh I forgot one more good new jack swing album:

I believe it's fair to say a lot of the albums being named are not "New Jack Swing" albums. When I think of that term, I'm thinking particularly of albums featuring the work or influence of Teddy Riley. We're now talking about acts outside of that influence and are concentrating on acts who created music between 1988 and 1994. I know I'm harping on the name, but wouldn't it appropriate to call the music subgenre in question "hip-hop soul," since it's more encompassing and "New Jack Swing" already has been taken? Or at least name the thread "New Jack Swing/hip-hop soul?"

If that's the case, this whole thread has no criteria. There are albums named that came out several years before Mary J. Blige's, and some of them aren't considered "New Jack Swing" albums. I feel the term "hip-hop soul" is more encompassing because the majority of the albums named used some of the beats and attitude that came from hip-hop and married with soul music (En Vogue, New Edition, Johnny Gill, etc.). There's one ballad on the 12 Play album that I play constantly and it's called "For You". "Seems Like Your Ready" is another light-night steamer. Dude got some killer vocal cords, man.
