TV series Candy Meets;

Candy Dulfer made a series of tv programs that will air in Holland, starting October 14th at 17:45. In this series she interviews musicians about their work and life and she will also perform with them.

She really milks her NPG contacts; the series features episodes with Mavis Staples, Sheila E., Maceo Parker, but also Dave Stewart, Van Morrisson and (of course) Candy's Dad, the fella formerly known as Hans Dulfer.

I must admit I kind get a cringy feeling when I see her interview people; she is unpolished and hokey, but at the same time, that is kinda sweet.

On a Dutch tv program they showed excerpts, one of them from an interview with Sheila; Sheila tells where Prince saw her first; on stage with George Duke and Herbie Hancock and he and Andre (Cymone) would bet who would marry her first.
Then Sheila and Candy go giggly; Candy saying she can totally see her married to Prince, saying something like "You so belong together".

Then Sheila says something like "Well, we were together for a long time, so"

Hehehe, I never heard any of them admit to more than a working relation, but we kinda KNEEEEEW, didn't we?

Ooh, and on the tv show that showed the excerpts, she also stated in the interview she dislikes people always asking her for Prince. And that she never asked him, as she knows he does not like interviews and she rather has people that WANT to be an her program.

There was a thread awhile back in the associated artists forum talking about Sheila being on celebrity Weakest Link and talking about dating Prince. I'd never heard either of them admit to dating either, but it seems Sheila's been pretty open about it lately. shrug
