I think they're just one of the great bands of all time - fun, weird, rhythmic and ugly in the way I like. You described them perfectly once, actually - crackers, I wish I could remember the exact phrase you used. I might have to try tracing that thread down... Oh yes, I think I know what you're talking about. Found it: http://prince.org/msg/8/214237?&pg=4 I think of them as more avant garde art junk funk.
Couldn't have put it any better myself.

Honestly (not to make this about me or anything) I think I've got pretty standard musical tastes for the most part. Three of my top four acts are Dylan, the Stones and the Beatles - not that radical, really. I'm not trying to blow smoke or anything when I say that I think you and Sextonseven have more exotic tastes than I. It's cuz we like Bjork, isn't it?

They certainly have a high pedigree, but I don't think of them as snobs, per se. It takes a certain level of arrogance for that. I'll call them connoisseurs. Anx is definitely a snob. Damo might be an accidental snob in that he doesn't realize how truly out there his tastes really are compared to most people's.

Snob just sounds so harsh, I guess. But Anx has owned up to the title, so I guess it's fair.

Take those Jackson family albums off you're list and I figure you're left with a favourites list every bit as snobby as mine. I'd say my list is 50/50. I'm a wannabe snob, but I just can't let those pop records go!
