AWESOME album. Up there with the best albums of the last 30 years.

Songs I love in this order:

1) Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
2) Rock With You
3) Get On The Floor
4) She's Out Of My Life
5) Workin' Day and Night
6) Burn This Disco Out
7) I Can't Help It (used to be higher)
8) It's The Falling In Love
9) Off The Wall
10) Girlfriend (the worst song on the album)

4. Rock With You
5. She's Out Of My Life
6. Get On The Floor
7. Burn This Disco Out
8. Off The Wall
9. It's The Falling In Love
10. Girlfriend ( disbelief )

I think you and I can agree that Paul and Michael should never work with each other again (well, their friendship ended a long time ago so that is not going to happen -- a good thing!).

I can honestly say that this is one of the few albums I own where I love EVERY single track on it. It's Michael's best album IMO.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

lol LOL.. I love me some Sir Paul, but his moments with Mike were pretty dreadful. Hell, "The Girl Is Mine" is the sole blemish on Thriller, IMO.

"Say Say Say" is still kinda cool, though.

And about the whole "this is his best album" thing... to be honest, going back and listening to all his studio albums after two years, I actually don't find it his best anymore like I used to. It's got some phenomenal cuts, but it's less consistent than Thriller (which is killer song after killer song save "The Girl Is Mine") or Bad.

My twocents.

I used to think "Bad" was a great album when I was a kid but now I think it's just "okay" overall. I do agree that "Thriller" is great although many people think it's overrated and maybe it is, but to me it is one of the greatest pop albums ever. I still prefer OTW though, I listen to that album more often than any of his others.

i love this album.. but i have to say this would be my 4th favorite... if i judge by how many times i actually play the whole album... thriller is the number 1 album for me cause i listen that the most, then BAD, then Dangerous, then off the wall... then blood on dance floor... BODF is a great album...

no question my fave from MJ. Workin Day and Night, Don't Stop, Off The Wall are the best on the album, but its the only solo MJ album I still listen to on a regular basis (still get into Triumph and Destiny).

The solo version of The Girl Is Mine is 20x times better than the version that was released.

Everyone hates "Girlfriend"? I love that song

Yeah I know what version of TGIM you're talking about. Paul made that song so fucking corny. The one thing I love about "Girlfriend" was the scats MJ made. nod

Paul is my least favorite Beatle. I even prefer Ringo to him. LOL. The fact that he made this song cornier... disbelief Why, Paul, why?

Off the Wall is awesome. Every track is slamming. When I was a kid (not to long ago) the track I never really played were Burn the Disco Out and It's the Falling in Live, now I love those songs. I like Girlfriend unlike some others.

The top tracks for me are of course, the hits Don't Stop ... Rock With You, Off the Wall and the bad ass LP cuts I Can't Help It, Get On the Floor and Working Day and Night.

Because he's Paul McCartney. lol Corny defines him (WINGS, anybody?).

(And why is HE in the Hall of Fame as a solo artist? John had a bigger impact than he did, but I guess if you go with pop songwriting, Paul's your man... confused )

Anyway I think the song would've been a little different had Michael called someone like, oh I don't know, Stevie?

I used to say Michael and Marvin but I know how that'll turn out. Marvin would vocally KILL him. lol

I often imagine that actually:

Michael: I love you more than he...
Marvin: AOW! But I love you endlessly, baby! Woooo...
Michael: Marvin, Marvin, it's my part...
Marvin: Sorry, Mike, I gotta do this... AOW! Oh baby, he can't love you like I can, baby, don't go!

lol It wouldn't have worked.

But Stevie would've been better for that song though.

Co-sign. OTW was very consistent and cohesive. Musically, in my opinion, Michael never matched "Off the Wall" though "Thriller" is awfully close.

Definately his best solo album ever because it sounds more like the stuff he was doing with The Jacksons at that time. It was sandwhiched right inbetween "Destiny" and "Triumph" so his brothers were around him and influenced him for the funkier side. All the rest of his solo albums were too damn pop sounding.
Andy is a four letter word.

I like "Girlfriend" too which seems to be the least popular.

This whole album front to back is perfect; his best.

I also think this is Mike's best solo album. Thematically, it is the perfect dance album. Thriller is a good album, don't get me wrong, but there was no theme that was holding the songs together, it just a whole bunch of good to great songs on an album. OTW was just a great album, period.

I can listen to it from beginning to end every single time. Order of songs:

I Can't Help It cool
Burn This Disco Out
Workin Day and Night
Get on the Floor
Off the Wall
Girlfriend (I like this song, too)
She's Out of My Life
Rock With You
It's The falling in Love
Don't Stop Till You Get Enough (I love this song, but you can only hear it so many times, and once you learn the lyrics the challenge is gone)
