"Entertainment Tonight" isn't popular because its spawns great human thought.

As you are well aware, if you really want a thread to blowup, just post a current picture of a celebrity and then get catty about said picture.

But I'm not saying that any of us are actually guilty of that, because obviously none of us here ever do anything that isn't grounded in the absolute best of intentions.

In defense of superficiality (since I also brought it up), sometimes posting a snide remark under a picture is all there is time for.

And Madonna and Michael Jackson have produced some great music. But, you're right, the attention they get far outweighs their worth (anybody's worth).

um, aren't there websites where people with more "elite" tastes in music hang out? this is a popstar's website and he's going to attract people who like...pop music.

besides, what does it matter to you if a coltrane thread gets 35 hits or 3500 hits? so long as you can have a conversation with someone else on that thread, it really shouldn't matter to you how many others are enjoying the same conversation.
