What struck me when I watched the show (besides how annoying Tyra is, yet I still watch the damn show confused ) is - "how do you handle all that @ such a young age??" Maybe I was coddled as a kid or something, or just never had a dream that could come to fruition just by being me, but man. I don't think I could handle fame/media/record biz @ my current age lol Let alone 19 or whatever she is. That said, she seems to be handling it all well. & she's a beautiful girl, I hope she continues to do well & rides it for as long as she can ('cause we know how the pop world is).

I fast forwarded that part giggle the WAY Tyra asked about it seemed SO FORCED. She's always trying to get people to talk about something painful & she doesn't lead into it gracefully or sincerely imo. I couldn't deal w/ it...

You know?? lol

What I thought was particularly tacky was when she had a Top Model runner up on (the girl who lost to the mohawk chick) & asked her about being raped. It's not the subject matter, but the WAY she goes about it - pretty tactless & fake. I know why she wants to discuss it (to let others w/ the same problem know they're not alone!) but it's almost like she springs it on them & they're taken aback, not entirely comfortable. I dunno, the whole "serious moment" part of her interviews just bug me. She puts too much on it when she does anything herself (have you seen the drama she puts on for the fat suit/going into a prison?? it's vomit inducing!!), so I guess I wonder how much she really understands when people have gone through something horrible shrug

I think its more of her trying to understand. But I do agree...she doesnt know how 2 ease in2 it.What gets me is how she brings everything back 2 herself.I understand shes trying to make them feel "not alone" but sometimes she goes off 2 long about herself rolleyes

that's true, the way she approaches sensetive things is bad.

remember that girl from top model, Joanie? she was so upset after her appearance on the Tyra show because Tyra called her out on being late/fired from Beyonce's mother runway show LOL

Oh shit! That is COLD lol I probably skipped that interview, b/c honestly once I saw how often she was pimping the problems of the Top Model rejects, I started fast forwarding every time I'd see one of them on disbelief

I think Rihanna is overrated. She does not look like Tyra.
She's actually not cute to me but rather funny looking. Her voice grates my nerves. She's boring on stage. As a matter of fact, she's pretty much all hype. A Beyoncé comparison isn't even reasonable; Bey may be stupid but she can sing her ass off and has stage presence. I don't know why so many people are fascinated with Rihanna. She's not that talented.
I like Tyra. She's self-centered as hell but fun...and cute.

I don't get the Beyonce comparison either, but maybe they're just talking about current popularity or beauty or something. She sure can't sing like Beyonce. But she's cute as a button, & I like "Umburrrrellllla" lol

& "Rehab" too boxed

I think any Tyra comparison just has to do with their foreheads, they look nothing alike confused

I just see 2 girls smiling here. What's trippy is their makeup scheme is nearly identical (if it wasn't for the bronze under Beyonce's eyes) smile

I think on the cool that beyonce's camp helps out a lot of the ladies in the industry with their hair and make up, inlcuding tyra and jennifer. I also think that many of these ladies trying to get their careers blossoming good are using some elements of beyonce because it did work for her. JMO, because I remember when beyonce started to dress with less and ashanti and everyone else started trying to do it. I think that ashanti and beyonce look like twins for some reason but a collabo in the studio would be cool. (got off topic)

but as far as tyra she pics good topics, and yeah, I agree she goes a bit far in her interviews when she starts making the guests feel like they are not alone and just tearing into people's personal space by acting like she is their friend since she comes off that way, and then TEARS INTO STUFF about them SHE WANTS THE VIEWERS TO KNOW ABOUT....
tyra-- that is my girl. but she can be cold at times.

I think Oprah goes about it a bit differently, & even when she comes off not so interested in what's being said I guess I give her a pass b/c she started off as a journalist long before all this talk show stuff. Whereas Tyra is just doing it b/c she can, not b/c she's all that good at it shrug

i think when rihanna first came out she was a Carribean beyonce... but now she is becoming an individual artist... my mom is a fan of both...

actually i used to be a crazy beyonce fan... i got my hair honey colored like beyonce for the prom.. everything.. even posters... but anways... when rihanna came out... i didn't like her.. because i thought she was copying beyonce...

but then rihanna had all these cute songs that i couldn't deny.. and cute style of cloths.. her cloths are amazing...

and then beyonce started acting arrogant, fake, impersonal, private, boring.. and she is still dating Jay-z.. and he's a rude jerk... anyways.. those factors made me seriously not like beyonce any more...

so i just started to focus on rihanna... and now im a rih-rih fan... her music is great.. some of hte best music made this year..

I love Rihanna, she aint talented but she uses what little she has well. I like the fact that she is willing to try new things with her music which is very rare for mainstream "black" entertainers these days. I really like the dancepop vibe of her albums. Her voise is weak but the music is fun and danceable not the average crap that seems to pass as RnB these days.

I find her really pretty and sexy. I hope her success will inspire others to stop doing this slow and rhthymless shit they've all been doing for the past 10 years or so.

I agree.... I also love her style of fashion... just how she tries to really be different... thats why her music is very nice... i have to say the best songs in 2006
