I remember her..(damn I'm old)..I've only heard one song by her..I think it called "Dance With Me"..(Soul Alive, is that the right title?)
She was good looking but I always got her mixed up with the other late 70's R&B divas (like Linda Clifford and Candi Staton).

Oh yes I agree "Dance with you" is an amazing track, I have it on vinyl and I can't wait to play it to people. The musical part has been sampled for a house track by Armand Van Helden and very few people know this. "Girly Man Man Man..... Kill her kill her kill her"

"Dance With You" (1979)
http://www.youtube.com/wa...fbCYf7lXDA One of the most hypnotic disco jams! I loved this song back in the day.Carrie sounds really sexy... Dance with you...I wanna stay with you boy Dance with you...so I can play with you boy I like the way this song is written. They repeat the title phrase over and over, and it seems like Carrie is making up ad libs as the song moves along.

Carrie Lucas was SOLAR president and founder Dick Griffey's girlfriend, which explains why she was able to release five albums while landing only one top 20 hit. Lucas' biggest hits were 1979's "Dance with You (No. 27 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart)," "Show Me Where You're Coming From (No. 23, 1982)" and her collaboration with The Whispers, "Hello Stranger (No. 20, 1985)." [Edited 10/1/07 6:03am] THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!
