Hardly. I'd have to say Cher or Kylie. HUGE catalog of dance music.

No, I meant Michael Jackson solo, but that can include J5, too. And from what I've seen people are too busy dancing to much giggling and what not. IMO his musical presence still commands much respect and attention--even if his personal life doesn't.

Well I guess it depends on where you go then 'cause I live in NYC too and when I go to clubs or parties they play more songs by MJ & Madonna than Prince or Janet (although I have heard "So Excited" a few times at the club) but almost always without fail I'll hear "Holiday", "Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough" and sometimes "Billie Jean".

the problem with dance pop is that, at least until this decade, so LITTLE of it is actually ready-made for a dancefloor until it's remixed out the ass into something almost unrecognizeable.

which is why if the original (album/whatever) version of the song is more funk-based, it's better suited for dancing in almost all situations.

how come big 4?

just leave it to big 3.

No offense to Janet, but she is not supposed to be in this list.

btw. Madonna has my vote.
we do not stop playing because we grow old , we grow old because we stop playing
