In 1978,I think I saw this movie in the theatre about a dozen times I would get my allowance every week and go see it.I memorized the entire script and all the songs.I was obsessed with this movie! I had the photonovel and a whole shoebox full of trading cards.

I'm not a fan of the movie or the soundtrack but the title track is great. Kinda had a Philly soul thing going on IMO

Same here... The basic premise behind the movie (and musical) is that Sandy has to conform to win Danny's affections. It's a really skewed message to send to kids: "Dress like a hooker and find true love". I don't know about the "finding true love" part, but the "dressing like a hooker" part is what I really loved. I've always loved the bad girls and hated the good girls. Hookers, and whores, and sluts.....oh my Hookers, and whores, and sluts.....oh my Andy is a four letter word.

Also,it's not as if Sandy transformed herself into a slut She's still pure and innocent...just a little more sexier than usual. Now, why did you have to go and ruin the image of her in my head? I always pictured her pulling down those black satin pants, cocking her legs up in the air, letting Danny get a little bit, while she smokes her cigarette and yawns. Afterwards, she tells Danny to tell the rest of his boys to come get a little bit and see if all of them put together could give her enough. Andy is a four letter word.

You can tell that Barry Gibb (who wrote it) was heavily influenced by the Gamble and Huff/Philly Sound. Many of the Bee Gees' songs from this period sound like Philly soul.
