Donna Summer's Love is in control Almost a year ago I asked the question here if someone knew
about this song that I was looking 4. But I only had a few words and no cluess so it wasn't easy 2 know what I was talking about. A few weeks ago this played on the radio at work and a collegue of mine said"that's been a while since I heard this one, I still have the (vinyl) single !" So,finally I knew the title and the performer of this great song...and I was embaressed that I didn't know it is the queen of disco singning it While I'm familiar with most of her other hits. Anyone has some more info on this song? I guess this is one of her 80's releases but don't know much about it. Love4oneanother

It's produced by Quincy Jones & written by Rod Temperton. 'Love Is Control (Finger On The Trigger)' is the full title I think. Pretty sure it's on WB records as well. Grrrreat tune !!!! The Funk, the whole funk & nothin' but the funk, ya dig?!

"Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)" is the first single from Donna Summer's 1982 self-titled album, produced by Quincy Jones and released in the summer of '82.Here's the video:
http://www.youtube.com/wa...KEUrHzKg_E It became a hugely successful Top 10 single for Donna,on both the R&B and pop charts.I think it's one of her best 80s singles.I love the fast, relentless arrangement that forces Donna to hang on for dear life This song is one of the few times that she did a genuine R&B song, and she sounds great. The hard-to-find 12" version is a must have. The 1982 'Donna Summer' album is a favorite of mine,as well

I wish I had done the same Remember how we talked about Donna's numerous prostitution songs? When I first heard this song,I thought "here we go again" I thought she was singing... I hung around with big shots, never knew love was in the sights I guess I missed the target, caught up in a different 9 to 5

It's out there. I found the single and the album for $1 each at a used record store. It's all about the 12" version.

The CD was released for a limited time by Casablanca/Mercury (who released or released all of her stuff that was avaiable on CD in 1994 when she signed a deal for and released not only "Endless Summer"and "Christmas Spirit" but sadly not a pop studio album). You can find "Love Is In Control" on most of her greatest hits sets. The most complete and up to date is the double set "Donna Summer Gold", which is one of those catalog titles that they released for a ton of artists like Aerosmith and New Edition who had their hits compiled on two discs sets titled "Gold".

Kewl "pick" part by Steve Lukather on guitar. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page
