One of my FAVORITE albums by GS-H. The title track and "The Prisoner", "A Sign of the Ages",,THE WHOLE ALBUM!!!

Also if u like that one get "Free Will" as well.

There are so many I could recommnend to u. But u can't really go wrong with any of his releases.

Those first couple records are incredible! Pieces of A Man is probably the best one although Free Will is also very exciting. His debut, Conversations at 125th and Lenox, is just Gil and a percussion section (except for one or two numbers with a piano) doing their act in a coffee shop, and features his most impassioned rants against injustice. Truly thrilling.

I don't know much about his life and history, I'm sure you can look that up on allmusic.com or read the liner notes from the CD booklet, but I am a fan of his music and I would highly recommend you get some of his albums. I recently bought three of his reissued CD, Winter In America, From South Africa To South Carolina and It's Your World. Pieces Of A Man is another great album of his, you will definitely like it. If you buy all of the ones I've mentioned, you will be well stocked of his collection, enjoy the ride.
