John Lennon solo albums I have Plastic Ono Band and Imagine. What other solo albums by him are worth checking out? wwww.myspace.com/chessvalentine

Double Fantasy has some of his most accessible music like "(Just Like) Starting Over" and "Woman." It also has my ultimate favorite Lennon song "Watching the Wheels."
I would also recommend Mind Games if only for "Intuition" and "Out the Blue."

Rock & Roll is a fun album if you are into 50's rock. The Lennon compositions on Double Fantasy are great. Just skip the Yoko tracks. Walls and Bridges is decent. For a casual fan I'd probably say just get Plastic Ono Band, Imagine, a greatest hits set and you're golden. I have all of his albums myself.

Lots of people hate Some Time In NYC but I rather like it... certainly the weirdest & most out-there of them all.
Just remember that Live Peace In Toronto is for "collectors only"!

You're joking! Kiss, Kiss, Kiss; I'm Moving On; Every Man Has A Woman Who Loves Him - all fantastic songs. The re-issue also has the best Yoko song ever: Walking On Thin Ice.

Imagine--Almost as good as POB, a little more pop, & a little less deep. A classic nonetheless, and track for track maybe the best Lennon solo album. Edit--I see you already have this.
Somewhere in NYC--hit & miss, very political, a couple great songs, contributions from Yoko that don't totally disturb me (aside from Don't Worry Kyoko...) Almost worth the price of admission to hear Frank Zappa say "that's right everybody get on your feet and do the Scumbag!" Mind Games--underrated bunch of songs most people have never heard. I'd get this one next. Decent balance of style & substance, though the production isn't good. Walls & Bridges--Polished pop, some decent stuff, but ultimately feels even lighter than Double Fantasy IMO. [Edited 10/3/07 12:55pm] My Legacy

Yoko Ono is criminally underrated as an artist. As for a solo John Lennon album worth checking out other than Plastic Ono Band and Imagine, I would recommend Double Fantasy.
