It's groovy and it speaks the truth even in 2007. Brothers like me still have quite a difficulty catching a cab in NYC. [Edited 9/27/07 16:48pm] NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Although I've never bought an album by Lenny, this song is one of my favorites. When a track is done just right, its relevant for years after its release. The line that stands out for me has always been " Mr. Cab driver, FUCK YOU ! I'm a survivor " , damn that's funkay. Jeux Sans Frontiers

yeah that's my favorite line right there 2 ...and its still hard 2 get a cab these days in nyc man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I hear more of a Velvet Underground influence on this song.

..not really my favorite song on that record (how about 'My Precious Love' or 'I Build This Garden')

Lenny's first cd was excellent. In fact, his first 5 cd's are pretty damn good. the last two were below average, but I still really enjoy his first 5 releases. I hope his new cd is good. I'm looking forward to it.

Stereotypes/Racial profiling haven't changed despite the renovation and new tenates such Clinton in Harlem. Interesting how the more things change the more things stay the same. Of course , NYC is different than a hick town like Houston.
