Chaka Khan on Letterman 9-26-07

She did Will You Love Me? from the new album Funk This.
Vocally, she did alright. Singing the first verse in her lower register was a tad shaky.
Doing the second verse up an octave sounded much better and she sailed on from there.

The 9 piece band (that includes 3 bg singers and Tony Maiden on guitar) was quite good.

No. The sequence of the late night format is to have the "musical guest" as the last segment of the show.

And back off Letterman... mad

Letterman seemed Ga Ga over Chaka, hes usually not all touchy feely.

He's been officially hired as the 2nd guitarist in her touring band.

When I was told that TM was hired for the current band I thought, "There's a small possibility that this could turn out badly."

I don't think so though. smile
