Kelly Rowland To Re-Release "Ms. Kelly"

In a recent interview with The Lantern, R&B star Kelly Rowland spoke on the forthcoming re-release of her critically praised, yet poor selling, 'Ms. Kelly' album:

The Lantern: Are you reissuing "Ms. Kelly?"

Kelly Rowland: I am actually. I'm going back into the studio to do some more songs. I was very apprehensive at first, but I swallowed my pride. The record industry is very different. Things are going more digital and I want to accommodate my fanbase.

It's good to see her being honest and not sugarcoating the situation (i.e. the album's poor performance). I'm assuming the re-release explains the whereabouts of the already-filmed video's for 'Work' and 'Comeback'.

In other news, UK Kelly fans should be on the lookout for her as she will be hitting these sides in October for a few shows. As soon as more information is available, I'll let you know.

-Her album was actually pretty good but I hope she has more success with the re-release.

If a tree falls in the woods....I guess I wish her luck. Sometimes this works. Worked for Jessica Simpson

my suggestion to her would be stay out of the US market, since there is none at this point, she has been doing alot of UK stuff, which is smart at this point, thats what Amerie,Mya and others are doing too, if you arent Beyonce at this point dont bother releasing it here, its scary but thats how the labels are thinking at this point. Kelly isnt going to be a big seller regardless of the product or remix or bsides, etc, the same reason mya and amerie wont be the big seller that the labels are looking for. In the end the ones that pay are their loyal fans because they will buy the imports,re-issues,dvd etc..numerous times.

Ms.Kelly needs to learn to differentiate between a good song and a filler.

I agree. I think Kelly would have much better luck overseas as well.
