Longest surviving band - no lineup changes I have a feeling it's gotta be Rush - same three dudes since 1975. 32 years, and just had a pretty good album come out this year.
Although the Four Tops had the same lineup for something like 42 years until one of the guys passed in the late 90s. (1956-98 I believe?) Any other ideas?

That probably belongs to The Dells...

Not as long, certainly, but U2 has had the same lineup for almost 30 years. My Legacy

From the Gospel perspective, I say the Five Blind Boys Of Alabama.

Yes, quite a few bass players & keyboardists, and changed drummers toward the end of their run. U2 could catch it up if they keep going...they formed only about 4 years after Neil Peart joined Rush. (Isn't that weird...they seem to come from two completely different eras in music.) Which one will give out first? However it sounds like both have some sticking around to do if they ever hope to catch the Dells!

I think the Four Tops have this title 'sewned up'. They were together 4ever which is very impressive especially when you look at the Temptations who swichec members like every 10 days. But I think the Tops win this battle. Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever!

Nah. They were a blues band back in the 60's until Stevie Nicks got involved (not sure of the whole story but back then they were a straight up blues act) and they became adult contemporary radio standbys Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

In this 60's group orginial lineup, they recorded Black Magic Women which was later recorded by Santana. [Edited 9/27/07 12:02pm]

They went through lots of changes, including a post-Buckingham & Nicks version, in the 80's & 90's I think. The old Peter Green FM sounds so different from the Rumours FM it's weird. Two completely different bands. My Legacy

I didn't even think of ZZ Top... in the rock and roll world I think it's gotta be them. 37 years...if they hang around for 6 more they'll even beat the Four Tops.
