Mean Sleep (Lenny & Cree) VS Mean Sleep (Vanny & Nik) I just heard Lenny & Cree's version and it was pretty cool. I may even like it more than Van & Nikka's version. Strange thing is, I have Cree's album and NEVER listened to it and found it last night after hearing Mean Sleep on Sirius'The Flow radio station. I will now listen to her entire album and see what other gems could be on there.

Lenny & Cree for me. Love their vocals, separate and especially together, love the music.
Never could get into Van and Nikka one much. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I think you'll be pleasantly suprised Cool, I hope so. I've had it for over 2 years now. It was given to me by an ex-chick of mine. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

Never could get into Van and Nikka one much. Yeah, I agree. Their vocals matched a lot better than V&N's. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

Why? I got it when it first came out, never gave it a chance, sold it. Years later I was curious about it again, so I bought it used, still didn't give it a chance, sold it This was before the whole "rip everything I own to ITunes" so I'm still without it. But I can pick it up used for like $1

I bought Street Faerie when it first came out and it became the soundtrack through my ventures in London all those years ago. To this day, I love that album like it first dropped. I won't play it for months and then put it on with anticipation and run it for weeks with no skipping. There's a real raw grit about it that I dig, plus her voice, the lyrics... I still have hopes that one day she'll record again one day. [Edited 9/12/07 13:52pm] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I like Cree, but I didn't dig Street Faerie. I bought it after having really enjoyed the earlier album Womb Amnesia by her band Subject to Change. Anyone hip to them?
I think "Revelation Sunshine" was on both albums, but Subject to Change's stuff had a harder edge. They needed some polishing, but they had promise. If Cree records again -- and I hope she does -- I'd really enjoy if it were with them. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I think you'll be pleasantly suprised Ok, I just got thru listening to it and I like Deliciously Down, Mean Sleep (of course), and Curious White Boy. It was a little bit to "rockish" for my taste but I would be intrigued by another release by her to see how she's grown. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

I like Cree & Lenny's version, but there's a certain detachment about their rendition of it. Van wrote it and you can tell it was about SOMETHING because you can hear it in his voice. That, and there's a certain "darkness" about it that the Lenny & Cree version doesn't have. It almost makes their version sound too happy in comparison.

Wow I didn't know Van wrote it. I just checked the credits and he surely did. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher
