Cant anyone sing anymore....I wanna hear the strain! I know some people have dogged Alicia for the strain, but shit i wanna hear it from everyone at this point. I have never heard so many GOOD voices on people who dont know how to sing. You wanna hear some GREAT real singing, check out YouTube for Mariah Carey in 1991 on SNL singing "If its Over" fucking amazing, LIVE, nothing but strain and power in the voice, this performance HIT ME in 1991 and still hits me now in 2007. I wish i would hear that kind of "soul" from Beyonce,Xtina, hell even jessica Simpson, who at one time had a better voice than any of them. And no im not picking on Female Vocalists, i would basically take most of the RB male singers who think they can sing and make them listen to some early Luther and tell them, you arent allowed to record again till you can do that. We need the rawness back in music, no more slick, layered vocals, lets hear strain, lets hear soul again, cause music aint got it anymore. Luther isn't what you consider a raw rnb singer, and i am happy most of these rnb singers don't want to sound like luther, THAT WOULD MAKE MUSIC BORING and you need to update there are better studio techniques out there, so why go back

A better question would be "Can't anyone play instruments any more". I could care less how good someone can sing because singing ain't what makes my ass wanna shake.....funky drums and bass do. Andy is a four letter word.

Artists now, new and old are so layered in their vocals, and PRINCE is a big culprit in this on alot of work from 1996 on, thats why music and artists are boring, because they all learn the same SHIT techniques from so-called vocal coaches, who shouldnt even be alot to coach kindergarden choirs. There's little soul in R&B music anymore, at least what's on the radio.
