Whitney houston at her peak in music.. and before bobby and crack... had the best voice... but I would say Celine Dion consistantly has the best voice of all time... AND... people who have worked with Celine have said many times they do not have to touch up her voice in the studio... and they have worked with several other Divas...

While I would not argue she has the "best voice of all time," she is an amazing vocalist. But again, her music is too over the top for me.

That's very true. I've heard the same thing. In fact, I believe it was Tony Bennett who said that most artists he's done duets with have to have their voice touched up in the studio except for Celine and k.d. Lang.

Wow, I never heard this before. Small world.

I used to really like Celine before the Vegas stint. I have about 3 of her albums. I don’t dislike her, I just haven’t gotten into anything she’s done lately but I think she has a beautiful voice and gets ragged on way too much.

Madonna is related through her mom's side who was French Canadian...

I always have liked Celine..cheese and all...she is sincere and through the mid-late 90's...Xmas was not the same unless there was a Celine special on TV or new album...this year she'll be around during the holidays and that's the time I enjoy her more...

To be honest I dislike her music. What do orgers think about her music?

Garbage. The female Lionel Ritchie - sappy, boring elevator music. No different than Mariah's music, but at least Mimi's eye candy. Celine's just an eye sore.

I think she is wonderful. The best vocalist.

I have seen her three times live, once in Australia (1997) and twice in Las Vegas (2006), and hope to see her again. Awesome performer.

Celine's new album, "Taking Chances", comes out in November. Can't wait.

wow!!! 3 times?? eek

i've only seen her once. earlier on before she became a a mega-star. lol.
however i did get to meet her and get a couple autographs and pics with her. she's one of my favourite singers ever. pretty much flawless vocals. my opinion? she fucking amazing. and a beautiful person. i believe she's one of those artist that a lot of people don't want to admit liking but know every word to at least 3 of her songs. that "i'm too cool to listen to Celine Dion" attitude rolleyes get the fuck out of here with that shit. lol people are always talking about wanting "real singers" and such then turn around and say she's this and that. yeah ok.

i really wanted to see her in Vegas but just can't afford to. sad hopefully some kind of full length dvd will be released for it. i wasn't too impressed with her last French album though. it was just ok. i've heard that her new song is really different for her and really good too. someone told me they didn't even realize it was Celine until the dj announced it. i can't wait for the new album. excited

j'taime Celine! woot! redface

i hear vainandy is a big fan of her as well. nod razz

The dvd of the vegas show is coming out towards the end of this year.
I have heard the new song "taking chances" and I agree that does song a bit different, but I love it.

I also agree with you on the last french cd "delle's". I like the previous one, "1 files & 4 types" better. But as always with me, new music from Celine or Prince is good news.

Happy to see some appreciation for Celine here on the org, Thanks. biggrin

Forgot to mention how envious I am that you got to meet her! eek That would have been awesome.

i like her when she gets a little bit too unhinged in interviews

From my observations, she seems nervous at times during interviews and expresses herself with strong emotion and sincerity which is felt in her vocal performance. She seems down to earth.

That is interesting... I also agree that her earlier work is stronger than her post-Titanic catalog.
