Leo Nocentelli (of The Meters, but his was his own band) Eric Krasno (of Soulive) Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals (Ben is great on acoustic, electric and his specialty a lap steel Weissenborn, plus his band has a 2nd guitarist, Michael Ward, who's no slouch) Vernon Reid (with the electtonica-funk band Yohimbe Brothers) Leo is great It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Check this clip of him coming outta jail.Look at him getting a guitar and jammin on the spot.(clip1) He's also far family of Django Rheinhard and had a deal with Sony and had dinner with Stevie Wonder..but he is on the heavey dope now. Hope he makes it.Sweetest soul ever..there's a beautiful documentary made of hime too.It starts out in a heroine rehab clinic where he says:I'm very sensitive..people can hurt me with ease.. I love him alot as a honest person, guitarist ,singer and soul.Beautiful! Also check clip2..he is 12 years old in it. Enjoy.. Clip1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=sX6JYdbDgfg Clip2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=2xQValyNv3Q I´m a big fan of Jimmy too. You´re right he is absolutley amazing!!I have all his records. He and Lagrene play definitely in the same league. Jimmy Rosenberg comes from a Sinti (gypsy) family in Asten, in the southern region of The Netherlands.Still very young, Jimmy Rosenberg is obviously one the most promising talents in gypsy jazz today, and chooses to live a traditional gypsy life – in a caravan, without an address. Org don´t get mad at me but I don´t think Prince is in this league.Jimmy and Bireli play in another universe.Prince is a very good player but he doesen´t have the technique( for example to slow with his fingers) to become a master player. But this isn´t important.Prince hasn´t got the time to focus on only one instrument(guitar) to become a master. Had he more time maybe he would! He has to focus on his writing, producing, singing, girls etc etc. Thanks for all your responses. I can agree with B B King and Santana. I like them both. But I think players like Slash,Van Halen, john mayer,Knopfler,Eubanks are overrated and not so great!! [Edited 9/26/07 5:10am] Oh My God!! I did it. Got a job with the crew. I'll see Jimmy and help set up the show. I'm on a natural high now. I can't believe it. I'll post a pic soon. One of The greatest ever!! Man...I'm trippin'..still can't believe it.

I can highly recommend these four Jimmy CDs:
Info On his new CD – ROSE ROOM – Jimmy Rosenberg is playing pure duets with accordeon virtuoso Stian Carstensen (ex Michael Brecker) – an amazing album! The two young musicians are playing some kind of musical extreme sport – fast and furious, but also gentle and even surrealistic and funny, but all the time brilliant! Never before have we heard two musicians in such tight interplay – and Jimmy is once again putting a new standard to what’s possible on a guitar! Fasten the seatbelts – here’s ROSE ROOM. jazz-network.com Info After nearly two years Jimmy Rosenberg broke the silence with this awesome jamsession. Django’s Tiger is presenting the brighter side of the young guitar genius: mostly traditional repertoire, but played with unsurpassed hardcore presence. This is the new generation of Django music. jazz-network.com Jimmy, Bireli and Angelo have, each in their own fashion, distinguished themselves as three of the most prominent musical innovators within gypsy swing and all three appear to violate the laws of nature in terms of what it is physically possible to execute on a guitar. The question was whether it would be possible to talk them into a rendezvous in the studio? The meeting came about in a highly spontaneous fashion, in the course of a week-end before Christmas in the tiny studio Sysmo in Paris. Under the direction of the brilliant guitarist Pascal de Loutchek, we were able to immortalize a jam session of pyrotechnic dimensions. Most of the music was recorded on the first take, with all of its raw energy in place... This is no ordinary debut CD, in that the artists are already well-known names among guitar enthusiasts in many countries. It is therefore with great pleasure and pride that we present the first solo album of one of the greatest guitar talents of our time - the one and only JIMMY ROSENBERG. Jon Larsen When you're a guitar player (like myself), there are certain CDs you must own. This is one of them. Although I must admit, it's kind of depressing (as a guitar player) to hear Jimmy Rosenberg blister through the songs on this CD with such playful ease knowing that he's only 13 year old! It's also refreshing that he's not wasting his incredible talent on mainstream heavy metal or alternative scene. (Yes, let's face it, 'alternative' is now mainstream) A message to all self-proclaimed guitar-heros: buy the Sinti CD and let the Rosenburg brothers take you to school! @emile 57 Thanks for your infos. "Oh My God!! I did it. Got a job with the crew. I'll see Jimmy and help set up the show. I'm on a natural high now. I can't believe it. I'll post a pic soon. One of The greatest ever!! Thanks emile 57!!You´re absolutley right he is a genius on guitar and for me the best living guitarist.Just imagine a guy like Slash,John Mayer, Van Halen or Keith Richards trying to play Improvisation it would be the same as Rihanna trying to sing Nessun Dorma or Alicia Keys,Billy Joel challenging Oscar Peterson on piano. They are just great mainstream rock guitarist nothing more, nothing less. And he has a good heart!Maybe we see each other at the concert.Only 10 days left.Utrecht I´m coming! [Edited 9/27/07 12:45pm]

actually a very good player. He probably doesn't get mentioned because his playing serves the song more than it serves his reputation as a player. He's not really a showoff. But his Sultans of Swing style & sound has been much copied I just go ape over his guitar playing I find his work sublime...and subtle...

PRINCE has topped a new U.S. poll to find the Most Underrated Guitarist. The editors of rock magazine Rolling Stone asked readers to list the top rockers who failed to make their 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time survey. The top five is: 1. Prince 2. Kurt Cobain 3. Neil Young 4. George Harrison 5. Ace Frehley.
Mmmh so Prince is now officially underrated.....
