I dont know when it comes on now. They've changed the lineup and replaced it with Dave Chappelle re-runs "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

I thought of you when Run DMC came on stage. I though,t vainady is probably cringing right now. . You could tell that the performance was going to be a sign of things to come in the future. Sad isn't it? I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Sad isn't it? I like a lot of stuff from Run DMC's first two albums because the songs were actually music. I even like a few songs from their "Raising Hell" album but the two songs they performed on "Soul Train" were definately a sign of the future...."talking over a stripped down midtempo beat". By the time the line dance came on, I turned off my recording, threw the DVD in the trash, and changed the channel. All the songs they played in that episode had a crossover pop feel to them and Genobia Jeter had that Shitney Houston adult contemporary feel to her music. That episode had all three things that I hate all rolled up into one episode.....crossover pop, adult contemporary, and shit hop. Damn, the late 80s were some horrible years and were the infancy stages for the horrible 90s. . . [Edited 9/23/07 9:19am] Andy is a four letter word.

Yeah the last few Soul Train episodes suck.
Go back to the '70s or least the early-'80s. Is that hard to do, Don?

I just got through watching this episode and I was not impressed. I had nearly forgotten how boring music had gotten at that point. Then I heard Run DMC's "Hit it Run" and I was taken back to the 7th grade dance.
Man, the "prep" dance was all over the floor. Was there anybody not scratching in the air? **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

What? That is going on in a few markets (Dallas is one). They moved the BOST to 1 or 2am to make way for Dave Chappelle reruns. Dallas has such an inconsistent programming lineup on Saturday nights (on the CW): Cheaters Flava TV (a local music video show) Chapelle Show The Shield BOST **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Plus the way the crowd reacted was just like how they do now. I kinda freaked me out. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

It's not showing in Milwaukee anymore, which really makes me mad
I was doing a search on MSN Tv trying to find it and there are no listings for my area. It did show what the upcoming episodes are going to be and it looks like next week its Jody Watley and Chico Debarge and if there information is right after that they are going to be going back to some earlier ones. This is what they have posted: The Fifth Dimension; Al Wilson; Formula IV. 11-03-2007 Kool & the Gang; Al Wilson; the Natural Four. 10-27-2007 The Staple Singers; Bunny Sigler. 10-20-2007 Sylvia; the Moments; Ecstasy, Passion & Pain. 10-13-2007 Vanity; Kool Moe Dee; Angela Winbush; Ronald Isley. 10-06-2007 Rose Royce; Chico DeBarge; Jody Watley. 09-29-2007 Run-D.M.C.; Genobia Jeter; Dick Anthony Williams. 09-22-2007 [Edited 9/23/07 18:59pm]

I remember watching this episode back when it first aired and laughing my ass off at crazy ass Louie.
Was it me or was the dance floor jam packed on this episode, I even spotted a few cats who used to dance on the stage in the late 70's/early 80's Soul Train years dancing on the floor. When those two Genobia Jeter songs came on I thought of Vain and cracked up, they were some Shitney sounding songs Andy, LOL!!

I'm tellin' ya, more and more of those adult contemporary type R&B songs started flooding the R&B airwaves after little miss goodie two shoes reared her ugly head. Before her, it was mainly Lionel Richie or one or two others like him but the main thing on the radio was funk. The late 80s were an entirely different ballgame altogether. I can't tell though because a lot of 70s artists made unsuccessful attempts at comebacks in the 1980s. Does anyone know for sure. I hope they are 1970s episodes. Vanity; Kool Moe Dee; Angela Winbush; Ronald Isley. 10-06-2007
Rose Royce; Chico DeBarge; Jody Watley. 09-29-2007 I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really think Don or whoever is choosing these episodes are reading our comments. You can do a yahoo or google search for "The Best Of Soul Train" and our threads will come up. Look at all the episodes they have showed so far.....The Time, Vanity 6, Sheena Easton, Sheila E. Now they are getting ready to show Vanity and Jody Watley (produced by Andre Cymone). This is prince.org and from searching the inernet, it looks like we are the biggest supporters of the old episodes. We bitched months ago about not wanting any late 80s episodes and they went back to the 70s and worked their way back up. I've bitched about wanting episodes from 1979 and 1980. Suddenly they show so many episodes from that era that we started getting some of the same songs played two weeks in a row. Now we're bitching about late 80s episodes and it looks like they are getting ready to go back to the 70s. It definately looks like they are reading our posts so, by all means, if you don't like something....bitch about it.....and if you do like something.....praise it. . . .
