In Loving Memory-2Pac

Before I even start, let me get this out for those of you who will undoubtedly have something negative to say on this thread: He was thug, a gangsta, he lived like he died, i'm glad he's dead, he was garbage, blah, blah, blah.

Pac was one of, if not my favorite MCs. While he music that spoke of "thug life", he also had music that made me laugh as well as made me cry, that spoke of social injustice and some that just partied. I miss him. I miss the potential his life had.

In dedication to Tupac Amaru Shakur, gone 11 years today:

So Many Tears

I shall not fear no man but God
Though I walk through the valley of death
I shed so many tears (if I should die before I wake)
Please God walk with me (grab a ni**a and take me to Heaven)

Back in elementary, I thrived on misery
Left me alone I grew up amongst a dyin breed
Inside my mind couldn't find a place to rest
until I got that Thug Life tatted on my chest
Tell me can you feel me? I'm not livin in the past, you wanna last
Be tha first to blast, remember Kato
No longer with us he's deceased
Call on the sirens, seen him murdered in the streets
Now rest in peace
Is there heaven for a G? Remember me
So many homies in the cemetery, shed so many tears

Ahh, I suffered through the years, and shed so many tears..
Lord, I lost so many peers, and shed so many tears

Now that I'm strugglin in this business, by any means
Label me greedy gettin green, but seldom seen
And fuck the world cause I'm cursed, I'm havin visions
of leavin here in a hearse, God can you feel me?
Take me away from all the pressure, and all the pain
Show me some happiness again, I'm goin blind
I spend my time in this cell, ain't livin well
I know my destiny is Hell, where did I fail?
My life is in denial, and when I die,
baptized in eternal fire I'll shed so many tears

Lord, I suffered through the years, and shed so many tears..
Lord, I lost so many peers, and shed so many tears

Now I'm lost and I'm weary, so many tears
I'm suicidal, so don't stand near me
My every move is a calculated step, to bring me closer
to embrace an early death, now there's nothin left
There was no mercy on the streets, I couldn't rest
I'm barely standin, bout to go to pieces, screamin peace
And though my soul was deleted, I couldn't see it
I had my mind full of demons tryin to break free
They planted seeds and they hatched, sparkin the flame
inside my brain like a match, such a dirty game
No memories, just a misery
Paintin a picture of my enemies killin me, in my sleep
Will I survive til the mo'nin, to see the sun
Please Lord forgive me for my sins, cause here I come...

Lord, I suffered through the years (God) and shed so many tears..
God, I lost so many peers, and shed so many tears

Lord knows I.. tried, been a witness to homicide
Seen drivebys takin lives, little kids die
Wonder why as I walk by
Broken-hearted as I glance at the chalk line, gettin high
This ain't the life for me, I wanna change
But ain't no future right for me, I'm stuck in the game
I'm trapped inside a maze
See this Tanqueray influenced me to gettin crazy
Disillusioned lately, I've been really wantin babies
so I could see a part of me that wasn't always shady
Don't trust my lady, cause she's a product of this poison
I'm hearin noises, think she fuckin all my boys, can't take no more
I'm fallin to the floor; beggin for the Lord to let me in
to Heaven's door -- shed so many tears
(Dear God, please let me in)

Lord, I've lost so many years, and shed so many tears..
I lost so many peers, and shed so many tears
Lord, I suffered through the years, and shed so many tears..
God, I lost so many peers, and shed so many tears

Tupac Shakur one of the greatest rappers ever. Got his start as a roadie with Digital Underground. Shock G finaly let him put down a verse on "Same Song" and the rest is history.

Tupac was more then just a rapper. He was also a poet and an actor. He was immensely talented. There's no telling how far he might have gone had he NOT got mixed up with Suge Knight and Death Row Records. R.I.P PAC. peace

That's what Nina Hartley said. She had a one-night-stand with Tupac, and according to her, Tupac had what it took to be a porn star. That lucky stiff.

He was one of the few rappers I listened to when I wasn't a huge hip hop fan. I remember when he died. One of the first times I saw grown ass men crying. He was important to alot of us and still is.

One of the Greatest of All Time IMO

RIP Tupac

sorry..I dont feel sorry him...

His music was ok..couple here and there....made me dance and created memories.

He was talented, could write and his acting was getting better...

His only down side is when he opened his mouth...and look what it got him...

His flaunting of "west side" better than "east side"...but was he born on the east coast?? That whole thing cracked me up, be for fucking real..because you live on a particular coast..your music is better

His degrading of women, bragging about his money and life style, being shot, going to jail countless times....

the sad thing is, he was a millionaire and acted like an asshole, sold his soul to the devil....

again..music is music to me...I dont ride any one ...music has to have soul, meaning, and a message...those who are listed above dont define who i am as a person.

If their define who you are than all the power to you. Do you really think 2-Pac was a man of peace and positivity?? About turning your life around and making this world a better place???

Biggie and Puffy are in the same boat...again because you are an artist on a particular label that makes you better than someone else?? The sad thing is that mainstream media bought in to that shit a blew it up to more than it should of been...and because of it..it fed the egos of Puffy, 2pac, Biggie, and Suge...and in the end..death row went under..bad boy cant even give away their music...Puffy rides the dick of a dead man and has dumb ass reality shows on MTV and destroys more careers. Suge has no artists, no money, no label...again music scence loses in the end..

I love Same Song. I love Shock G and the Underground.

Ditto... lol My favorite rapper 4 life. I remember when I first saw him and Digital Underground. I wanted 2 know all about him after that performance. I knew then he was something special. He couldn’t wait 2 do his thang. He was on fireya, that kid had a lot of personality on stage and when his turn came up 2 solo, he fuking ripped it. OMG! I miss him dearly. Tupac was/is my all time favorite rapper. His music is the only rap music I own. He diffidently spoke his mind and caused a lot of controversy along the way. There was calmness behind the thug life he portrayed. He was a smart young man and extremely intelligent when he wanted 2 be. As far as I'm concern, Rap died when Tupac died. He had a story 2 tell and told it very well. R.I.P. Tupac Shakur

If to you "music has to have soul, meaning and a message" then music isn't just music to you, is it?

At least don't contradict yourself when trying to spew your venom about Tupac.

I don't know about you but none of the music I listen to defines who I am! Only I can do that, by the choices I make and the actions I take.

You didn't care for Tupac or his music, we've got it. Let those of us that do...do so in peace!

His poetry was really beutiful also. I just didnt like how he was goin in the last days of his career. The beef is what turned me off, but before all that he was still a great lyricist, poet, and a nice actor too.
