I'm not agreeing w/ Krayzie (in fact, I'm not sure I've EVER agreed w/ anything he/she's said), I'm being sarcastic in that response LAWD!

I would suggest stop reading other things into this incident beyond the obvious. We don't need any implied baggage (i.e. the "your grandmother" comment to krayzie) that has no correlation. Patti LaBelle started dancing with the man, and she made a snappy comeback to get a response from the audience. She wasn't expecting a response back from the man, who got a bigger response from the audience. Then she plays the diva role, because she had to have the last word and she didn't want to be upstaged. If I was that guy I would have not gone back on that stage. If he knew he was joking with Patti LaBelle there was no need for him to apologize to her. So now younger guys can't flirt with older women. I guess we're also supposed to forget that LaBelle divorced her husband of 31 years and she started dating a much younger man. Sounds to me you need to take the same menopause pills Patti LaBelle should have taken that day. It's definitely a personal problem -- one that can be resolved by taking my name out of your mouth. Sounds to me you need to take the same menopause pills Patti LaBelle should have taken that day. It's definitely a personal problem. A few things: You're an asshole. I'm far from menopause but thanks for your concern over my "mood". As far as personal problems you most definitely seem to have one over this damn thread Several responses ago I agreed to disagree, however you & your pretty text keep coming back, yappin' & throwing jabs - have fun @ it by yo damn self Bottom line stated many moons ago (in MY opinion) - dude got cozy, Patti wasn't having it. He was disrespectful, period. Funny how MY opinion equates to "a personal problem"

Funny how MY opinion equates to "a personal problem" I have no problem with the issue -- I have a problem with someone trying to manufacture an argument by taking my words out of context. You also seem to have a problem not leaving until you have the last word, hence the insincerity in your "agree to disagree" statement you repeatedly say. If it's over for you, simply leave or move on. Patti LaBelle was being extra. She should have came back on him with something like, "Babbbbby...you ain't got NOTHING I want. Trust and believe!" brought the house down with laughter, went back to singing and quietly sent him on his way. I agree. The guy was obviously young and dumb.We all say and do stupid things when we're young Patti could have handled the situation with a little humor.Instead, she turned it into an embarassing, awkward situation for all involved.

IMO, Patti LaBelle went into damage control mode because realized that she was coming off as a diva, plus the audience realized she was being too way serious over a situation she initiated. As awkward as that situation was, it could have been worse for LaBelle if the audience turned on her. He used poor judgment making that sexually charged remark. You don't say that shit to a woman -- esp. not a 63 year old woman. I cringed when he followed up with "You heard me!" . It was disrespectful and I am glad Patti stood her ground. I bet nobody else will say no shit like that next time. I think Patti may need to cut the crowd interaction, years ago somebody grabbed her breast on stage. love is a fate resigned memories mar my mind love it is a fate resigned Over futile odds and laughed at by the Gods and now the final frame Love is a losing game

That exchange where Patti LaBelle asked, "Do you know who I am," he responds by saying her name and then she goes, "What does that mean to you?" was the epitome of someone in all-out DIVA mode. You almost could hear the good vibes being sucked out of the audience. It was funny for LaBelle when the guy was being clowned for his singing and she can make a joking comment that he was all up on her, but when he made a snappy joke in the same vein in which she was joking she turns into a self-righteous diva. When I showed the video to my mother, she too thought Patti overreacted and behaved immaturely. BTW, my mom is 63, black, and so conservative nowadays she thinks using the words 'cool' and 'fricken' (which Patti used) is talking 'ghetto'. This has nothing to do with a youth not knowing how to talk his elder, but an elder acting like a child when the child upstages her. Respect for Patti -100
