Just curious about the org's opinion about these two. Both are great in their own ways. But who's the better dancer? In terms of variety, I'd have to give it to Janet. She seems to have the most classical training and seems to be able to do different styles of dance. Mike is great, but in terms of pure dancing ability (not talent -- because Michael seems otherworldly naturally talented), Janet shows more stuff on stage. Just happens my account was closed the same day all the Prince videos were taken down!!!! (clip made by lilgish at Prince.Org) IMO, they there were the best videos showing MJ's dancing ability and I can no longer seem to find them on my backups. What the hell? Thats the most stupid and false comment Ive ever heard, even his most fearsome haters would admit the guy is on a different level when it comes to on stage moves. I can only guess the person who said that has been in a time capsule for the past 30 years. And Janet vs Michael? C'mon, its pretty obvious. The greatest musical entertainer of all time, 700 million records sold, the King Of Pop vs Janet? Didnt Prince even say Michael was a genius and Janet was just 'the geniuses sister'? Michael wins, hands down, no contest. shouldn't you be releasing some doves somewhere.?

but as far doing choregraphy I think Janet is better even Tina Landon said Janet picked up the choregraphy quicker than Micheal . and I really don't understand why some of you think as doing choregraphy as being " talented less " cause you still have to have the abilitly .If you don't know how to dance and go to a class your still not going to being the " IF" routine . which is exactly why Paula Abula didn' "teach" Janet how to dance she always had the abillitly. Janet has been working with Tina since the mid 80s, of course shes going to pick up the choreography a bit faster then Michael would; she knows her. But MJ has been said to pick up steps like the drop of a hat. In fact, Diana Ross and the rest of the case were embarrassed when they were learning the dance routines because Michael had learned it so quickly. I wonder if Michael made it up to her later though

Well, probably one of my most favorite dancers would be Desmond Richardson, Ann Reinking.. Sylvie Guillem.. Judith Jameson...and SAVION GLOVER--just to name a few outside of Baryshnikov! LOL. I also love Carlos Acosta, Elisabeth Parkenson(sp), Ethan Stieffel.. But out of them all.. I'm just crazy about Savion. Between Michael and Janet.. I would say they both are good at what they do. I think Janet is probably more choregraphed.. but then again wasn't Michael choreographed, too? (Didn't the late, great Michael Peters choreograph some of MJ's most well-known videos?) Actually, I love the way Prince dances. I don't consider MJ, Janet, or Prince dancers on the same level as even some of their back-up dancers. They are very, very good... and very natural dancers, but they probably couldn't compete as professional dancers. So I would say all three of them effectively use dance as a way of enhancing their music. I'm going to say this.. right now my favorite dancer is Savion Glover. I really respect him as an artist. He is just amazing..the way he dance to communicate. like music. Savion is a just a treasure.. really. So as an artist, I might put Savion at the top... P.S. I've always preferred Kelly over Astaire... [Edited 9/21/07 10:33am] Well obviously. Prince, Michael and Janet are not professional dancers. They are performers. Could they out dance the professionals? Hell no. But can those professions perform, sing, dance, entertain and have all the charisma and stage presence that they have? Hell to the no! Mistake correction - 'Pleasure Principle' was 1986, not 1989 (that was Rhythm Nation_.
