Why was Donna Summer so obsessed with prostitution?

In 1974,she releases an album called 'Lady Of The Night'.The title track is about a prostitute.....in a half-lit hotel doorway, the lady advertises warmly....It's just a job but she'll do the best she can lol

In 1979,she releases a double album called 'Bad Girls'...Friday night and the strip is hot....sun's gone down and they're out to trot....spirit's high and legs look hot....do you wanna get down?

It got to the point that, whenever she released a new song or album,I would play the record and try to find the prostitution references lol The 1977 song "Black Lady" from the 'I Remember Yesterday' album is said to be about a prostitute. The 'Once Upon A Time' album contains a song called "Working The Midnight Shift",which could be about a working girl.To this day, there are some folks who think her 1983 song "She Works Hard For The Money" is really about a prostitute, lol.I remember hearing her 1982 single "Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)" when it first came out and I thought she was singing...

I guess I missed the target...caught up in a different 9 to 5 falloff

Because she was a bad girl. The "Bad Girls" album has got to be the best album cover and artwork on an album EVER. Before I got all into Prince, I was into Donna Summer big time. I guess I just traded one whore in for another one. lol

Donna Summer was the reason I loved hookers so much myself. The "Bad Girls" album cover made it look so fun and glamorous, and I mean to get paid for getting some dick, that has got to be the best job ever. Talk about finding a job that you really love. I know a lot of the working girls on the street don't do it because they want to but I sure as hell would.

I got all into the hooker movies also...."Streetwalkin", "Little Ladies Of The Night", "Whore", "China Blue", "The Mack", "Pimps Up, Ho's Down", "American Pimp". My mother used to tell me all the time that she was glad I wasn't born a female because I would have grown up to be a whore.....and she was right. lol
Andy is a four letter word.

Blame Moroder, or better, blame Bellotte. He wrote the lyrics, didn't he?
