I never heard anything from him, but all I know that he's one of the friend of Antony Hegarty, who I adore

I think LazyCrocket may be the right person to guide you. He's the alternative guru (and a fellow REM's Around the sun fan)

slaphead

Cripple crow is great, it's the only album of his I have so have nothing to measure it by. It reminds me of early Marc Bolan in parts.

These pics. are in the current Blender issue....

Kind of a Charles Manson thing going on here:

Not always scruffy, I guess:

I like what I've heard by him.....the albums "Rejoicing in the Hands" and "Cripple Crow". I checked him out after hearing his song "Insect Eyes", they used it in a trailer for "Hills Have Eyes 2". The song paired up with the movie scenes had a creepy effect.

He's been compared to Nick Drake, I've only heard one Nick Drake album, but I can hear the resemblance.

Anxiety

i only have his first album, which is like an hour long and has a kajillion songs on it. i remember thinking it sounded like a hippie version of daniel johnston. it was interesting enough but not one i'd listen to a lot. maybe he's improved since then. he's become someone that hip critics compare new artists to these days, so i guess he can't completely suck. shrug
