The Material Girl, who wrote the show-all book "Sex," says she almost felt like a virgin when she filmed love scenes in front of her husband, director Guy Ritchie. "Yes, it was totally weird, especially with the man I love directing me," Madonna tells CNN's Larry King in an interview to air Thursday in which she discuss her new movie, "Swept Away," a romantic comedy directed by Ritchie and co-starring Adriano Giannini. It opens Friday. Madonna plays a spoiled socialite who gets stranded on a Mediterranean island and is suddenly dependent on her foil, a strapping young sailor played by Giannini. Madonna said she and Giannini worked hard to keep what could have been tense love scenes as light as possible. "It was strange, and Adriano felt strange, too, but we tried to just kind of jolly each other along through it all," Madonna said of expressing herself in steamy love scenes. The full interview, also featuring Ritchie, 34, includes Madonna's takes of life, love, spirituality and money. Years of popularity and success haven't completely dulled the Material Girl's desire for wealth. Madonna, 44, said she still appreciates money, but sees its place among other worldly belongings and pleasures. "Money is like everything. Money is like sex. It's like food. They're all manifestations of God. They're blessings that we get, but they're not what's going to make us happy," she said. "They're not real. They don't last. There's only one thing that lasts, and that's your soul. And if you don't work on that, and you don't pay attention to that, then all the money in the world is not going to help you." Madonna says the body of mystical Hebrew teachings known as Kaballah have helped her see life's big picture. "What attracted me to it is that I was looking for something," Madonna said. "I'd begun practicing yoga, and I was looking for the answers to life: Why am I here? What am I doing here? What is my purpose? How do I fit into the big picture? I know there's more to life than making lots of money and being successful and even getting married and having a family." Madonna said her true-blue focus on life is family. "My emphasis, my priority is my family, absolutely, 100 percent," she said. "But somehow we make things work. We don't sleep very much." --- From: Matthew J Chojnacki [matthewcho@juno.com] Subject: DADay AOL download Date sent: Tue 8/10/2002 12:36 AM From Madonnarama: America online is offering its subscribers free download of the radio version of Die Another Day.
