I know this is a Prince fan site but I was wondering does anybody here like the Mary Jane Girls? Back in the 80's , I've listened to the three groups but I have to say , I really like the Mary Jane Girls because they have better music , better stage presence , and better singing voices than Vanity 6 AND Apollonia 6. It's too bad that they didn't go far because they are really good.

BRENDA (VANITY/APOLLONIA 6) DESERVES MORE CREDIT, FOR SHE WAS THE BEST SINGER IN BOTH SIXXXES!!!!!

I prefer the Mary Jane Girls.Vanity 6 was more edgy and experimental,but they were also more "gimmicky".Many people didn't take them seriously.The Mary Jane Girls were a real vocal group...sexy and flirty,but vocally talented as well.

Honey, you're in M:N-P. Anybody w/ any sense likes at least ONE MJG's song I loved them, the lead chick could sing. Rick dressed them like total skanks but they outshined V6/A6 in the talent dept. for sure

I love all of them. The Mary Jane Girls were definately more talented than Vanity 6 or Apollonia 6 but I like the Prince girls better because the music sounded better and there were less slow songs than Rick's girls.

wow i'm surpised how many people are saying they prefer mary jane girls. don't get me wrong, i love them and own their cd but i must say i prefer Apollonia 6 out of all of them. That album is the shiznit. every track is the bomb!

Mary Jane Girls >>>>> Vanity/Apollonia 6. Unlike Prince, Rick was able to find hot women who could sing. Apollonia was even worse than Vanity. That "woooo-hoooo-ooo" of hers makes me want to poke my eardrums out.

Mary Jane Girls, they have brilliant, timeless classics (All night long, My house, Candy Man, Boys, etc.)

Apollonia was fun.. and always smiling.. she always looked as though she was having fun when she performed

and Mary Jane Girls looked extremely old.... sorry .. but they had the best vocals...

Vanity 6's nasty girl could rock with any mary jane girl jam but
everything else especially appolonia's sex shooter and blue limousine
were very cheesy.

That's exactly the way I feel too. The Prince girls had a little edge over Rick's girls because of their clothes and they were nastier and more graphic. They were absolute sluts and I love sluts! Rick's girls were sluts too but Prince's girls were sluttier.
