yea i dont like how tim always has to add his little "wicky-wicky" and deep bass-voice chants. i mean if u have a cool track why not just let the band make it their own intstead of trying so hard to put ur stamp on it. the music should say "this is mine" without you having to basically say it.

EXACTLY! this is why i hate production from 99% of todays Beatmakers/producers. I dont know wanna hear you saying who you are all over a friggin Duran Duran track. What if George Martin did that with every Beatles Song, "yo this is George" right in the middle of "Yesterday", I mean give me a break. Personally i love Duran, but this is gonna be an album of theirs that i listen too and quickly put away. I'm reserving judgment in hopes that I might like three songs. Not necessarily the ones that the dynamic duo produced, but finding more distinctive Duran sounds that I love. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

^ I'm sure there will be typical Duran Duran stuff on there. Timbaland/Timberlake only did like 3 songs with them.
I guess the singles will be the "current" sounding ones. I'm cool with that. I like the Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake Timbaland-produced tracks anyway.

Timbaland is ok, in limited doses. 3 tracks is plenty
I want to look at this positively...maybe working with him will help them get a couple decent charting singles? It's possible. It would be great to hear them on the radio again, it's been too long. "Astronaut" barely got any play here at all, which sucked. illiterate edit [Edited 8/31/07 0:54am]

New songs "Nite Runner" and "Falling Down" can now be heard on their Myspace page:

When I've mentioned that the dynamic duo produced some of the new tracks to a couple of friends, their eyes got big, and they were actually stunned and speechless. Neither of them are fans of Duran Duran per se but are familiar with their songs. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

"Nite Runner" is just AMAZING! One of my favorite songs so far this year... Remember a smile is the quickest way to improve your apperance...

Falling Down is pure boyband music at best, it's amazing how low they've sunk. Le Bon now admitted to Rolling Stone that "top 40" is what they want. The sellout is complete. Some of us are downright pissed off.

I find it humorous when people claim that DD "sold out". Seriously...they did that back in the 80's with all the exposure on MTV and Tiger Beat and crap. They're just one of the few acts to actually survive that shit with something resembling dignity. They've been around long enough...if they want to do a record with Timbaland or whoever, LET THEM. They want to have a Top 40 hit again? LET THEM. I do belive they have proven themselves...let them have some fun!.Jeezus...did people pitch this much of a fit when they decided to work with Nile Rogers???
