This is so sad. I love this band and I hope that Hayden has a full recovery. His voice is amazing. I've seen them live twice and they are a great band.

Toronto police have laid charges against a 20-year-old man in connection with a collision that left a popular Toronto singer in hospital.

Hayden Neale, lead singer of Juno-winning band Jacksoul, remains in critical condition in hospital after the accident Aug. 3.

(Jacksoul) Neale, 36, was struck by a Honda Civic while riding his Vespa scooter through a green light.

Kyle Samuel of Toronto has been charged with making an unsafe turn and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 25.

Police said Neale was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Jacksoul has resurrected classic soul songs such as Can't Stop and Still Believe in Love and put a twist on works by Radiohead, Curtis Mayfield and Sam Cooke.

This is so sad. My boyfriend worked with his sister in Hamilton years ago, and he's a really really nice guy.
