I'm not going to compare him to Prince, but Stevie Ray Vaughan... .... was a bad, bad guitarist.

I was just at the mall, running a few errands, when I walked into this shop that specializes in big-screen TVs.
"Hello, sir!" said the salesman, greeting me enthusiastically. "You're just in time. We're preparing our presentation in our back showroom. Right this way, please." "Thanks, I appreciate it," I responded. "But, you see. I'm here to watch Stevie Ray Vaughan." On their doorway set, they were playing his latter set from "Austin City Limits." Since I have it already and didn't want to be rude, I watched for a few bars, then left the store.

Stevie Ray could put Prince to shame with his style of play because that was his primary instrument, while we know P plays multiple things. Stevie did venture a wee bit into pop style music with his work for David Bowie, but He was a major player in the Blues rock category. Jeux Sans Frontiers
