Ike Turner Planning Reality Show IKE TURNER PLANNING REALITY SHOW: Series would follow shenanigans with ex-wife he accused of trying to poison him.
(September 10, 2007) *In a project to rival Bravo's Being Bobby Brown, veteran musician Ike Turner is hoping to launch a reality series based on his volatile relationship with ex-wife Audrey Madison, the woman he claims tried to kill him with an overdose of prescription pills. According to WENN, the 75-year-old divorced artist is now back together with Madison, his background singer, and looking to make some money off of their quirky relationship. Friends insist the couple will be together forever, because she's the only woman who is "wilder than he is." One source says: "He's been used to marrying groupies he could control." In addition to working on their relationship and pitching a new reality TV show, the duo is currently planning a tour of Europe. http://www.eurweb.com/sto...r36605.cfm "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ

Looks like it. You know that Ike didn't write "Proud Mary" and Tina wrote "Nutbush City Limits" by her lonesome. I think he sold his "Fool in Love" royalties though. So yes even with a solo Grammy, he could be broke.

Hmmm, I'm suprised. I thought for sure that Ike wrote "Proud Mary". I never heard anything about Ike being broke though. He probably makes a good amount of money from touring I'm guessing. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ

Ya got that right and unless she agrees to do a cameo, there's no way in hell I'd bother to watch!

They COVERED that song, it's not theirs I think their version is unique b/c it's equally (if not more) popular than the original . [Edited 9/15/07 6:01am]

Oh, & this show disgusts me. The only reason the current generation even knows who Ike is is b/c of the film & his reputation as an abuser. So now he wants to pimp his craaaazy relationship - BITCH PLEASE

durn org burps... Disclaimer: In no way am I excusing abuse of any sort. But can't Ike find the same redemption so generously meted out to other entertainers? We know that the film villified him (in one instance, attributing a rape to him that he didn't commit). Is there room for him to be appreciated as something more than an abuser?

All this time I thought it was their song. Nah, Creedence Clearwater Revival (a fave 1960s folk-rock group) originally penned and performed "Proud Mary". A slower-styled recording that was released in '69 if I'm not mistaken and their version was also a hit. Believe it or not their version was the first version I heard of the song. I must've heard Tina's version like not too long afterwards. [Edited 9/15/07 14:32pm]

Actually the biggest hit Ike & Tina had with Ike writing was "It's Gonna Work Out Fine" with "A Fool in Love" in second places. Other than that, most of their other hits were covers with the glaring exception of Spector's "River Deep Mountain High":
"I've Been Loving You Too Long (To Stop Now)" "I Wanna Take U Higher" "Proud Mary" "Come Together" Their last hit, "Nutbush City Limits", wasn't written by Ike but by TINA.

Back in 2000/2001 a movie deal was on the table 4 Ike's version and answer to Tina's movie. Eddie Griffin spent quite a bit of time with Ike prepping 4 the role. Ike got greedy at the negociations and the deal fell thru.
