There was a snippet that sounded like a looped chorus or something but I haven't heard anything more than that.

Neither (legally). What's the deal with the album? Fourth quarter release still? You'd think they would have the single out. Wasn't "Hung Up" out at this point? All I've been hearing is negative reactions about the stuff that is leaking. Someone on a music station was talking about how her song cleared the floor in a club....granted, he isn't a reporter (and it sounds like he wasn't even there...this is second or third hand) and is creating shtick time filler between songs, but still. I heard that last one with Pharrell on the radio (not sure if that was legal and exclusive) and it was just kind of there...same with "Hey You" (also played on Sirius but another station).

I've heard that her new record has been postponed until 2008. Apparently Madonna wasn't happy with the Pharrel tracks. He worked on The Beat Goes on and Candy Shop. So she is taking more time to work on the songs.
That's smart. I'm a huge Madonna fan, but I found these songs to be very weak.
I really don't think the whole hip hop things suits her. I think she ought to go in a different direction. It just seems a bad fit for her, she seems more at home with electronica and dance music.

The album isn't finished yet.The two songs that have already leaked are in demo form.Madonna and her producers are currently re-working several tracks and then she will decide what will be on the album. Some of the songs are being "tested out" in New York nightclubs. There's a demo CD that was given to a few DJs:

Rumor has it that the album will be released in early 2008,but I hear that there will be a first single and video released before Christmas. It's expected to be one of the Timbaland tracks.

Contrary to popular belief, the album won't be entirely R&B.Pharrell and Timbaland are the hottest producers on the planet right now, which is why their names keep getting mentioned, but Madonna has actually recorded some electro-pop tracks too. This album contains a collaboration with Mika and a handful of songs recorded with Stuart Price. In addition, she's recorded a few electro/dance tracks with Danja (Timbaland's sidekick).I also heard that Stargate (Rhianna's producers) have submitted four tracks for consideration.

Once she gathers up all the songs and compiles a final tracklist,I think it will be a very diverse album that covers alot of styles.I'd be very surprised if Madonna were to release an album that is strictly R&B/hip-hop.

The full song is out there wink There's even a dub remix floating around, too. It's actually pretty cool, also it contains the same line repeated over and over:

my sugar is raw...sticky and sweet
my sugar is raw...sticky and sweet

I know it’s a mediocre track and I hate Pharrell talking on the end, I should probably hate her for it but I’ve been playing it repeatedly. boxed I think the chords in the chorus do me in and I love the sticky and sweet part. It makes me want to dance.

But I’m probably one of the few that don’t really mind which direction she goes in Euro, R&B, Dance it doesn’t matter to me as long as the songs are good.

I don't care if she does R&B just as long as the songs are fast.I don't want no midtempo,R-Kelly-sounding,shit hop crap from her. Most of today's R&B songs are too slow."Candy Shop" is fast and I can see it being popular in the clubs.

First and foremost,Madonna is a dance music artist. She's gotta keep the beats hard and fast.

I think the track is not that bad for being a demo..however it should be for another artist. Madonna singin about Cady is just like.....she tryinna get on the teen-train...although the chorus is nice..and the beat is ok. I can hear this song going through more of a change. Even the synth dont sound right in the breakdown yet.

Funny you say that because I sometimes hear Kelis singing it especially the “sticky and sweet” part. I didn’t realize it was a demo at first so there’s hope.

After hearing it, not terrible but terribly mediocre. Just hope she is building up to something. This is starting to sound like her least inspired album ever (guess that happens when you're doing your last for a label, huh?)

I just dont know what to make of these two leaks. Both are uninspired and mediocore, both aren't terrible but neither get me going either. I think my main problems with both are her vocals - theyre awful - she just sounds like an old lady trying to hit the notes she used to be able to. Im really hoping these are demo vocals, but from what i can tell madonna is a one take vocal kind of girl.

Im trying so hard not to judge, but with all these leaks its becoming hard. What i loved about Confessions was it practically dropped from nowhere, and was packed with good pop songs. My hopes aren't dead for the new album, but they're dwindling. these leaks are giving a bad rep for the album. She should finish the first single off and release it asap - kill the negative reactions... then take her time to polish the album off.
