New York City nightclub DJ Steve Sidewalk has been slapped with a cease and desist from Madonna's people and Warner Brothers after he debuted a leaked version of one of her future tracks.'
Sidewalk played the Material Girl's upcoming song 'Candy Shop' for Hot Mess on Sunday at Porky's in NYC in what he called a 'world premiere.' As it turns out, Warner Brothers isn't ready to premiere the song.
I also heard that Steve Sidewalk is going to issue at public apology to Madonna and Warner Brothers.

I always think it's funny when artists/labels (ahem, Prince) go to court to stop people from giving them free promotion fucking dumb asses, man.

I'm getting tired of all these unfinshed "leaks",demos and reports of her songs being discreetly "premiered" at New York nightclubs.

How about we get an OFFICIAL single for a change?? Let's stop playing games and get a real single out there!

Nope.Two unfinshed songs have leaked in recent weeks ("The Beat Goes On" and "Candy Shop",both produced by Pharrell).Curiously,none of the Timbaland tracks have leaked yet.I'm just tired of all the confusion and rumors.Finish the album,announce a single and let's get on with it!

"Candy Shop",on the other hand,may not even appear on the album.There's a rumor that Madonna is already "over it".

Not to sound too optimistic, but I feel that this is a tactic to lower expectations for the upcoming album. She will hit us with an amazing first single. This is all just a smokescreen to get us prepared for the Timbaland and Stuart Price tracks.

That's a logical theory.I don't think it's an "accident" that these two songs leaked.It's telling that none of the Timbaland tracks (which are said to be amazing) have leaked yet.

I saw over in the DM forums where someone posted the entire cease and desist notice they got from WB for having Candy Shop on their page!
