New Eurythmics album full of rarities on the way?

Just got this from www.vibber.dk/eurythmistan- a great site for anyone interested in Eurythmics.

"03 Sep '02: New album of goodies
Dave reveals plans that a compilation of rare Eurythmics tracks will see the light of day in 2003. He talked about it before but this time it sounds like it's going to happen. Listen to the full interview where Dave also tells us what he thinks of Annie's forthcoming solo album."

I certainly hope this includes old B-sides! Having "Step on the Beast" in CD quality would be a dream come true!

Apparently it's going to be a double album! yay!

From ethrill.net:

"DAVE STEWART IN INTERVIEW: SENSATION!
Eurythmics doubble album in 2003!
ethrill.net is proud to present exklusively the complete interview with Dave Stewart in Luzern.
The sensation: I found out that Eurythmics are going to release a doubble album with 22 so far unreleased tracks (presumably from the past) in 2003!

Several times there have been rumours in the past that a compilation from the Eurythmics archives (which include e.g. several cover songs from artists like David Bowie, the Doors, Lou Reed) should be released, but this time it's planned definitely.

You can listen to Dave Stewart now in the features section, talking also about his musicals and Annie Lennox' next album. A full transcription will be added soon."

What the fuck tracks are gonna be on this thing?

And why didn't you tell me about this Ian!?

Cd quality versions of cri du chat would be nice but so would a double disc set of songs we've never heard before. Just the 20 some Sweet Dreams outtakes alone would be killer enough. This sounds like a wet dream of yours come true if it actually happens. Keep us all posted!

So what does he say about Annie's solo album? Know any other details? Release date? tracklist? producer? style?

The interview won't load sad. Apparently Annie's solo album will come out next year. I have no clue on a tracklist, but I will keep you posted as soon as I find one! Apparently there will be some Bowie covers on there. I just found this out today, so that's why I haven't told you yet!

Can't wait!

I hope "Fame", "Sound+Vision" and "Beautiful Armadillo" are all on there! By unreleased I get the sense that these will not be b-sides but lost studio gems.

I want all of the tracks recorded for "Invisible Hands" that didn't end up making "Sweet Dreams!"

Yes! Me too. I hope it ends up more than 22 tracks too. They could make a b-sides set just alone from that many. I'm greedy. I want as much as I can get. Whatever it turns out to be, it's gonna rule. The Invisible Hands idea would be great.

I'll be happy with whatever they throw my way! I might regret the fact that songs like "Step on the Beast" won't be such a secret anymore...but there's always "Charlie Cat."

Fuck that, I want 20/disc! Gimme all I can get! What if this turns out to be the greatest Eurythmics project to date. I have full faith that it has the potential. They're at their best when they're weird and abstract and I have a feeling that that is the side that will be showcased in this collection. I wish I knew when it was coming out!

It sounds as if the title will be "Sensation". Is this accurate or was that just the title of the interview?

That's another one. But Eurythmics were more of a personal discovery for me, so it means a lot!

I've never heard any Eurythmics b-sides so this project sounds great. Hope it sees the light of day.
