Hello Everybody,

We are very excited to be able to show you the cover of our Greatest Hits album. We have all been involved with the design and are really pleased with it… we hope that you like it as much as we do. We wanted to use our official website to show it to the fans first!

As well as working on the album we have already started planning for the tour – we can’t reveal too much but what we can say is that it is going to be amazing!! We are so excited and can’t wait to see you all. Lots of love - Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria

I can believe it took 5 of them to come up those designs. Their combined brainpower could fit into a thimble. My 12 year old nephew can do better sh!t than that cover.

I never understood Victoria's position on the first album..WHAT IS SHE DOING..there is like an elbow behind her head, and her stomach is like outside and her face is kinda off...what is she doing?

Whatever!! Who needs a greatest hits? They didn't have that many albums! I wish they would get their spicy asses in the studio and make some magic instead of putting out stuff like this and going on reality shows

Luckily their identities are so definitive we don’t actually need to see them but it would be nice. I hope they have a lot of new tracks because I can’t imagine how many ‘hits’ would be on there.

Greatest Hits is the fourth album and first greatest hits album by the English all-female pop group the Spice Girls. It is also their first studio album to be released in seven years since their break-up to pursue their own solo careers, marking the beginning of their reunion era and the accompanying world tour. It will be released worldwide in November 2007.

Release information
The greatest hits album was formally announced during a press conference held by the group on Thursday, 28 June, 2007[2] at London's O2 Arena. The group declared they are reforming as a group, nearly seven years after their last album release, Forever. The group will be composed of all five members, including Geri Halliwell who was well-known for her departure from the group in 1998.

The plan to reform and release a greatest hits has long been speculated by the media,but its planned release was first confirmed by Melanie Brown in June 2005. Speaking just before a planned reunion for Live 8 (that never actually materialised due to Brown's contractual agreements in L.A.), she stated: "We'll get back together because we all want to. I know everyone is up for it. There is going to be a greatest hits album and we've got loads of new songs that nobody has heard yet."

It is rumoured that the compilation will be released in 3 different formats. There may be a standard edition, a version with a bonus DVD, and yet another version with two bonus DVDs. The girls revealed the cover on their website on August 17, 2007. The title will simply be Greatest Hits.


Artwork
The artwork mirrors that of their debut album Spice; however, this time, jewels worth £1million were used to create the letters. In the work by top jewelery designer David Morris, each letter symbolizes one of the Spice Girls, as it did in their debut cover. The S is made from amber and represents Victoria Beckham. The ruby pink P is Emma Bunton. Melanie C’s letter I is made from a diamond; Geri Halliwell is the C, made from sapphire stones; and the emerald E is Melanie B. Morris said: "The album cover is a nice touch. They wanted something simple and stylish and it’s probably one of the most expensive album covers ever made.”

Okay, well that’s not a bad start regarding the singles. I forget how many releases they had.

However, that is the cheesiest concept for an album cover I’ve ever heard of. Sheesh. I would love a fashionable photo of them.

That is a letdown although I can see why it was chosen--keeping with the theme of the first two covers and all. They were wise to not replicate the 'Forever" album cover.

When I made my own Spice comp last year, I just chose the image from their Rolling Stone cover since I always thought that was really hot.
