Who doesn't ask for forgiveness? I ask for forgiveness of my sins all the time and so do many other gay people. As for simply being gay, I don't see that as a sin, but since their are so many people who feel so passionatly that it is, I always keep in mind that there is a chance I could be wrong. When I pray about being gay it usually goes something like this....."God, if being gay is a sin, then please forgive me because I truly cannot help and did not choose to be what I am, and you know this because I fought it every step of the way growing up. I know that my sexual acts are a sin, just the same as if I were straight and not married. I can control my sexual acts and forgive me for them, but I cannot control what I am and what I want".

See, we pray also. I really don't think being gay is a sin because a person did not choose and cannot help what they are. However, I do keep my bases covered just in case I'm wrong.

I agree with everything that you have written in this thread. Eloquent and to the point. nod Posts like these make me come back to the Org.

People need to get off their soap boxes about sin. Some of the biggest sinners are sitting in the fron pew and even in the pulpit ( Bishop Weeks, Juanita Bynum's husband ring any bells) But I guess their sins will get a pass. Although he almost killed his wife, it was between a man and a woman.

Some of the biggest sinners are sitting in the front pew at church and sometimes in the pulpit (Bishop Weeks, Juanita Bynum's rumored gay husband ring a bell?) But i guess the sin of almost killing your wife in a parking lot gets a pass because it was between a man and a woman.

Thank you. These so-called "Christians" need to stop pointing fingers, STFU and worry about themselves. And who says being gay is wrong? Some book? Please.

Anyway, my father also does not like that. It's the way he grew up. He shakes his head in sadness and says, "IS THIS REALLY ON TV!?". I can't stand up 4 myself cuz he is my father, but I understand where he is coming from.

In a way I understand Ja Rule's rant too. Total...we had this conversation so Im not suprised. I just feel you and your God should love all people equally.

are you talking to me eek and yes God does love everyone.. that doesn't mean he approves of sin... he made Adam and Eve.. NOT Adam and Steve

lol lol lol you guys know that was funny... but thats one of the jokes my grandma told me...

Where u got that line from "Philadelphia"? (A Good movie by the way u should watch it).

What's so funny? Who made you the spokesperson for my God in my eyes? No one does that but me. If God wanted me 2 be anything else than I am I would have been. My Creator wants to change YOU and open your closed mind.

LETS GET BACK TO THE real subject....Ja has the right to say what he did people, but as an older man, he just has to get used to the growing world. Things are much different than 1996.

No, actualy it was not funny.

And what of your sins?

i didn't say i was perfect... hey im not pointing the finger at anyone... that was Ja rule... Im not even angry with gay people... i respect and love them... do i approve of that NO... there are things that i do approve of.. but that doesnt mean.. that i will dislike the person... or treat them mean...

actually I don't believe that homosexuals should be bullied .. if saw that going on.. I would stand up for them being a human... and deserve respect....

but the thing is.. does a homosexual person... repent.. and ask god for forgivenes.. and to be cleansed... I know that I do...

most people who live their life a certain way... do NOT ask god for forgivnes.. or even think what they are doing is wrong...

so don't bring up the fact that we all sin.. thats true.. but we don't all repent/ask for forgiveness.. and thats a big difference...
I can bring up we all sin all I want. Are you having sex outside of amrriage? You sit here in judgement of other people, that is a sin as well.

And please, stop reducing gay people to just sex. I do not think of heterosexual people in that context.

You can accept a person for who they are whether gay or straight but that does not mean you have to accept a person's alternate lifestyle.

A persons "alternative lifestyle is none of your or anybody elses business to accept (unless it is your own son/daughter). You only need to worry about who you are laying up with, and I will do the same. live and let live

I don't ever recall trying to make someone's gay lifestyle my business. I could care less. You are right what a person does behind closed doors is there business. I'm not on a crusade to ban gays or any of that nonsense. Sticking with the topic, ja rule simply defended hip hop when critics bashed it as the only negative media outlet. Yes you do have negative images in other media outlets besides just hip hop. Again i am not a ja rule fan but there is some substance to some of the statements he made in the article whether people want to acknowledge it or not. GEEZ! I am so ready to move on from this topic.

I've seen rednecks down here in Mississippi, wearing T shirts with a picture of the Ku Klux Klan and a slogan that said...."The original boyz in the hood".

So, I reacted to some homophobe remarks on this thread and found out, later on in the thread that Lothan said everything I want to say, but without the namecalling that was in my initial posts.

I love you, woman. And to me YOU seem the president this country needs.

hug

Your posts took the sting out of all the anger of my initial posting. I should not fight ignorance with bad mouthing.

But jeez, sometimes the sheer ignorance of people astound me.

KKK shirts...oh yeah, they're here in SC too. We were at Waffle House in Charleston and my cousin saw this man with one on. That's just as bad as the T-shirts that were out when I was younger. I remember hearing my parents and relatives talk about their disgust over these t-shirts with the slogan "100 % cotton and your mama picked it".

well people in america better be glad im not apart of the government.. because that would NOT be allowed...

Nature itself tells us two men or two women should not be raising kids...

two men will NEVER be able to produce a child... so that tells me they shouldn't raise on either...

im sorry people im not trying to offend anyone... but this is my belief.. i dont' care if you hate me or disagree... I will NEVER fall for that... never tolerate.... (JUst how you don't agree with me... but i will still respect you guys)

i know those kids without parents need someone to take care of them... but i think they will be better off without being raised that way.....

DON'T bring babies and children into that mess...

Seriously, I don't dislike you, but the more of your posts I read, the more of a dumbass you look.

By your logic, a man and woman with fertility problems shouldn't be allowed to raise children either, because they can't produce children. Don't. Be. Stupid.
