They’re going to keep day to day tracking? That just means 50 will probably go out and by a few hundred thousand of his own disc.

I’m not buying either one but I listened to snippets and if those songs were any slower I’d be zzz

And why is 50 singing so much when he got on JaRule’s case for doing it? If Justin is singing on the track then 50 doesn’t need to sing at all.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I'm glad we are going with realiable sources like The New York Post and whatever that other thing is. People aren't interested enough in the charts anymore to track this day by day...not in America and not even with Fiddy trying to make this a big media story along with Kanye's laughable rants.

With the market the way it is, I doubt anyone sold 200K in one day, let alone that Kanye sold that many more in the first day...Maybe both combined! No doubt Kanye will outsell Fiddy but I think it will be a lot closer than everyone is claiming. I was sort of tempted to buy Kanye's but I saw it in a store (right next to Fiddy's, looks like they had the same amount on the shelf of each) and it didn't even have a tracklisting. I'll listen to samples, but am probably not buying either. I might pick up Ann "Heart" Wilson's new solo album (which I just found out she was releasing....appears to have cover songs on it).

Yeah i got the Ann Wilson and shes still an amazing vocalist, probably the best female rock voice ever. As for the other two i have heard them and i just wanna see who falls further week 2, and how quick the records are gone. Like i said before, once the Mariah album and single start going into promotion, no one at Universal is gonna get any time, they really are banking on her worldwide numbers.

So the Ann album is good? I heard absolutely nothing about it and I try to stay on top of stuff. Just found it on Amazon (looking at new releases or something). I guess people aren't banking on Ann in order help the music industry get out of this slump. smile

Ann is an awesome vocalist. I think people diminish her importance, or at the very least her importance in the eighties comeback era, because Nancy sang "These Dreams" (and I think another one of the lesser eighties hits) but people forget it was Ann singing the chorus very well which helped sell the song. And of the two big comeback hits, "Alone" is the clear winner and a motherfucker of a power ballad.

Never underestimate the power of a big country record. There are many sources saying Kenny Chesney may come out on Top...so far he's trending towards the Number 2 spot behind Kanye...but there's still the rest of the week and weekend...country fans are very loyal to their favorite artists and Kenny is arguably the biggest male coutry star out there right now.

Exactly, it really amazes me the numbers that Country puts up, i have heard reports that this new Garth Brooks best of with new tracks already has more advance orders than any other fourth quarter release.

That's kind of crazy to hear. It's funny that Amazon lists this thing called "The Ultimate Hits" or something which is the Garth Brooks set but it doesn't list him as the artist...like it's this big secret!

Thinking about the 50 Cent thing, he might not be all that dumb with this boost (then again, considering he made it on a place like sohh.com, whatever that is, he might have just been shooting off his mouth).

Considering the bad reviews and barge of lackluster singles (except for the one with Justin Tiberlake/Timbaland...which is a collaboration and something that didn't have to appear on his disc), maybe he is ready to stop making solo discs like Jay-Z...and then of course will do one in a few years! Maybe he just wants to lay low and live off what he's got (like that Vitamin Water money). That, or maybe he seriously thought he could create some heat doing this for both albums, with him ultimately coming out the winner.

The album is good, its has a few duets with people (kd lang and Elton) and then of course her sister too. Her vocals are very strong on this record as usual, she blows me away really. On their LIVE in Seattle album a few years back she did ALONE, its just her vocals and Nancy on guitar, that shit will send shivers down your spine. How this woman and band are not in Hall of Fame is a slap in the face to all female vocalists.

Someone told me Kanye's album is for the club and 50 is for the bedroom. If he's singing, I just can't see buying it. Bought Kanye yesterday and after three or four listens, it will probably end up being one of my all time favorite hip-hop records. If you are really into hip-hop and like Common, Mos Def, The Roots, Madlib, etc. then pick this one up. You can't deny his talent even if he is an ass sometimes.

I know he's singing hard on the AYO Technology song not sure about the other ones but nothing really grabbed me. I can't stand him but I'll admit when I like a track like a few of his past songs. It just sounds cheesy.

I heard him perform on The Video music awards... on mtv.. and if his album is anything like that song i heard.. then his album SUCKS... his hip hop songs are soo boring.... my goosh... i remember during 1997-2001 when rap had lots of great songs... diddy more money more problems, jay-z can i get a... and big pimping... excuse me miss, just so many decent rap songs...

im sorry but Kanye west makes extremely boring songs... I don't care how great his lyrics are... HE can't make a non-rap fan like me.. like his music....
(when a rapper can make a song that makes everyone like it.. then thats a decent song)

when I actually like a rap song... i know its good... i remember 50 cen'ts first album... even my mom liked some of his songs....
now all his music.. from the clips i hear on commericals.. it all sounds the same.. and blain....

Kanye west music is so stupid.... Gold digger and through the wire... those songs are so weak... i bet in 10 years people are going to remember them...

Me too!!!

I was at a Target in Hollywood yesterday and Kenny Chesney was outselling 50 and Kanye...in HOLLYWOOD!!!! Target does have a special exclusive 'fan pack' on Kenny's album so that's probably why but...I was still pleasantly surprised.

How much would you bet that Kanye will play the race card if Kenny Chesney indeed hits #1 !!!! OMG...he might just explode!

Seriously!!! The big stink he made over losing at the VMA's would be NOTHING compared to the possiblity (albeit a small possiblity) of Kenny Chesney coming out on top!
