it's literally 10 weeks from now for the album to drop so the single is rumored to leak anytime from today till this coming weekend, and it's an uptempo.

Those news were leaked by a source who were always spot on on their claims so i'm hoping it's the same this time around, too.

i can't sleep dammit.

Dare I say, I get excited for Mariah albums the way I use to get excited for MJ albums. Like nervous anticipation and must buy on the first day.

The title (maybe I’ll girl is finally growing up! ) makes me think of less hip hop oriented which is weird since it sounds like there will be more hip hop. I have to admit tho, I’m looking forward to the Swizz Beatz tracks. His songs always get me going.

Yeah obviously im looking forward to this, for many reasons. On one site a new sinlge is listed as November 7th for sale but obviously thats an Import since the USA doesnt have singles, and she is doing an instore here in NYC on the 23rd of October for her M perfume. The title is interesting since she worked with alot of Hip-hop people on this record but doesnt mean everything made the cut, at one point i saw a list of 15 different producers and i doubt all that made it. As for the cover, Mariah is often accused of being too sexy, but she hasnt shown more than her head on a cd cover more than twice really. Im thinking something very 70's like, maybe "donna summer" like, something different from past covers to just hit people!

Mariah is one artist I really look forward to hearing new stuff from. Her albums are still considered 'events' in my book...the way Prince and MJ albums were in the past...you literally lost sleep over the anticipaiton.

Love the title if it's true!

Her last album consisted of about 9 tracks that were produced by rappers, hip hop producers (or they provided beats foundations for the songs, ie Kanye,JD, Scarm Jones, James Poyser, Neptunes and so on, and rappers were removed (N.O.R.E was taken off Your Girl for one, thats why its so short) and it worked and at the core of these hip hop beats/productions are tracks that can work for soul/r&b song. I'm hyped to hear the Qtip track, hopefully its one of the mellower songs.

what's KILLING me is it's 10 friggin weeks from the release of the album and NOTHING yet.

no album cover, no song titles, no single title, no video news, c'mon Def Jam at least confirm to us the rumoured LP title

It might get pushed back if she takes any longer? but I doubt it, It was just revealed that Parkinson will do an hour show with her this year on his last season, and she's releasing a live album/dvd set thing the week before her new album!
This i belive was on promo crap for her fragrance. Finally a Live album and a concert, she had been working on this Live album and DVD for over a year almost as long as the studio album.

So im guessing Mariah and Def Jam mainly are looking to take over with Mariah and release them both the same day, this is very smart, lots of artists would do this years ago, and very smart because of Mariahs loyal fan base who have wanted a DVD for a long time, and of course the album will be Huge for everyone.

That means her contract with Universal Def Jam is up after this Fall! I bet she will resign, or go completely Indie. She said when promoting Mimi, that you dont need the industry any more to sell records and that new artists are realisng this.
Im not sure if you guys know but she actually hasnt signed directly to any label, she is 'leasing' her album or something, she described her situation as one of an independant contractor (which is why she has more creative control) She gets 25% off cd sales, I remember on some show talking about her money that she made 8 million off "Charmbracelet" and that it sold 3.5 million(she gets 3 million upfront for each album)

one of the speculations surfacing:

the perfume commercial which she supposedly shot 2 days ago might be part of the new video, and they'll both drop the same day of the perfume's official launching (this month)

Jackie, Parkinson is a show on the UK which she was supposed to appear on during the Mimi era for an interview and a performance of Circles, but she had to cancel it so she could attended the Billboard Awards (who gave her 10 nominations i believe).

So it's been rumoured she's doing the show this time around.

If that is a fitting description of the album, even I would be tempted to check it out...Doubt it will be, though. Bring on the Nelly tracks....
