September 07, 2007. Last week, MediaTakeOut.com reported to you that1980s singer El DeBarge was in trouble with the law. And now it looks like his brother has found himself in legal trouble.

MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Johnathan 'Chico' DeBarge was arrested on suspicion of having illegal drugs and cash in his car. According to police, Chico was observed swapping seats in his Toyota car with a female companion on a Los Angeles highway last week.

When an officer pulled the vehicle over, illegal drugs and cash were reportedly discovered. Chico, 41, is being held on $30,000

Chico's famous for being a member of the group 1980s DeBarge, and for releasing the solo hit songs, Talk To Me, Soopaman Lover, and Listen to Your Man (featuring Joe)

And for all you guys wondering what's going on with El DeBarge. Apparently he's still in jail facing domestic abuse charges. He never came up with the $20,000 bail that he initially faced, so the judge revoked it.

Jonathon Arthur 'Chico' DeBarge has been arrested on suspicion of having illegal drugs and cash in his car - just four days after his older brother EL DeBARGE was picked up for alleged domestic violence.

According to police, Chico was observed swapping seats in his Toyota car with a female companion on a Los Angeles highway on 30 August (07). When an officer pulled the vehicle over, illegal drugs and cash were reportedly discovered.

Chico, 41, is being held on $30,000 (£15,000) bail, reports website TMZ.com.

Cops arrested his brother El Debarge at a home in Lancaster, California on 26 August (07). The 46-year-old is being held without bail because he had two previous warrants for his arrest in narcotics cases.

I was really hoping he wasn’t back on that stuff. I know it’s hard for folks to stay away. This must be a heartbreak for their mom especially.
