I give it a slight yay! Lady Sings The Blues was a better role for Ross. Check me out and add me on:

Thats the thing though, after Lady Sings The Blues I swore I'd never see another Diana Ross mess again,,,,but this movie broke my promise The DRESSES OMG the fashion is enough to seal it for any girl,,,,and I was like "Not bad, Ms.Ross " when I learned that she was the fashion designer for the movie.

the theme song is one of Diana's best songs If I compiled a list of my favorite songs by her,it would be in the Top 5:
Do you know where you're going to do you like the things that life is showing you where are you going to...do you know? Do you get what you're hoping for when you look behind you there's no open doors what are you hoping for....do you know? that song takes me back to the mid-70s....there were alot of songs like this on the radio back then....big,schmaltzy,dramatic pop ballads Diana truly shines on this number!

Thats the least favorite song from the soundtrack. I love the rest of the tunes though,,,Michael Massar ain't to be sniffed @, I'm supriced he didn't make it to be a big name despite the fact that he wrote SO many classic tunes. There's a song in the soundtrack called "The Ideal Girl",,,has my heart in lock & key Dare I say, the birth of the disco extravaganza? [Edited 9/4/07 6:38am]

I'd say Yay. It was a decent movie even though I'm not a fan of Miss Ross.

I give it a Yay too. I liked it, but I especially liked me some Billy Dee! Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

I recently rented this at a place that had a ton of VHS tapes (this was right before the movie hit DVD, too) and boy, it's a nightmare. I guess if you're into both Diana and camp, it's great, though. The acting is so over the top but the "Do You Know Where You're Going To" music video montage part was the highlight.

I love, love, love this movie. I wasn't alive when it came out, but I had the pleasure to see it at the Castro Theatre on the big screen and it was amazing. it is over the top, but that was the best part! It wouldn't have been the same if Miss ross tried to be subtle.

I love it, especially the wildness about it.....the fashion, the parties, the beautiful people. I've always wanted to live "The Glamorous Life". That bitch was crazy as hell for giving it all up for some man. Hell, keep the job....you can find some dick anywhere. If she had any sense, she would have stayed with those wrinkled old dicks for the money and got her some good dick on the side. Andy is a four letter word.

The ending was something else wasn't it? She went back to the ghetto and lived happily ever after with the man she loved... Oh and I hate Billy Dee Williams they should've went to their 1st choice(Marvin Gaye) although I'm not sure whether he was a good actor or not,,,but I just can't staaaaand the former [Edited 9/5/07 23:36pm]

I didn't like his natural hair in that movie though. I like Billie with his suave wavy hair. I wouldn't go live in no ghetto with him though, not matter what he looked like. I would sleep with him and send his ass back to the ghetto while I went back to my mansion with some old trick. Andy is a four letter word.
