its common knowledge she is into women. who cares? i'm more concerned with her strained vocal stylings. she was good, and next to the rest of the "talent" in the house she was great, but she should just sing. no theatrics in the voice, no yelling...just sing. she does it well so she shouldn't try so hard.

I agree. I think she yells because the music drowns her voice, but she ruins her performances each and everytime with it.

You guys think she can sing? WOW! She gets a LOT of pub as being real music, real artist but I really don't see it. The vocals on most of her records are super strained, and then they autotune them to death. Especially on "Falling" and "If I Ain't Got You". The "live" track that mentions the Jeffersons is unlistenable. A lot of her songs are really someone else's song with a new title! I like that she can play piano, but she's a far less talent than Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin or Teena Marie, all of whom can play and sing circles around Keyes.

Can't it just be because it's a great song.

To win the race? A prettier face!
Brand new clothes and a big fat place
On your rock and roll tv
But today the way i play the game is not the same
No way
Think i'm gonna get me some happy
I think there's something you should know
I think it's time i told you so
There's something deep inside of me
There's someone else i've got to be
Take back your picture in a frame
Take back your singing in the rain
I just hope you understand
Sometimes the clothes do not make the man

went back home got a brand new face
For the boys on mtv
But today the way i play the game has got to change
Oh yeah
Now i'm gonna get myself happy

Those lyrics ring true for many people, especially people in the music industry who are being controlled by the companies and forced to be part of images.

At least, Alicia's my future ex wife, so don't fuck it up lol

Exactly, i think that was the main reason for singing this song, was to really spread the Vibe she gets from Prince and what he has been doing. I wish someone of "today" would have that rebelious vibe going on like Geroge Michael had at that point or what Pearl Jam did, i dont think right now there is an artist "mainstream and with alot of attention on them" that would stand up and do something like that.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

"Freedom 90" is about being gay. You didn't get that memo?

I was wondering if I was the only one to notice. Like, right in the middle, I look at my little brother and say, "You know, I wonder why SHE, of all people, is singing this very song!" He just looks back with a blank look. Then again, he listens to "Soulja Boy", of all people, so what does he know? I'm sorry "bboy87". My girlfriend went to one of her shows and was so sure that she blinked at her, admirably.

There were radio disc jockeys here that discussed on the radio, at one point how some lady was brought to the radio station with her who looked gorgeous and our very own "Foolish" was checking her out. He couldn't help but notice that "Alicia Keys" seemed to be putting him in check for checking her out. How more coincedental can you get? Oh, and for those that think that I can't discuss the woman's musical aptitudes, I have posted in here, many times that I love her music. She's one badass piano player, but her singing abilities are a bit overrated by some people in here. She can sing better than the likes of "Rhianna" or any other lady that is being shoved down the throats of the general "American Public", but that's not saying much.

Anyway, my point is that I only speculate her sexuality because I (Like "bboy87") am very much attracted to the lovely "Alicia Keys". But, it hurts me to say what I say about her. DAMN!!! Read my previous posts, why don't ya? mad confused

Hey, I'd like to join you, if you don't mind. Best case scenario (To me, anyway.) is if she's bi-sexual. That's always a nice touch.....I guess.

I said the very same thing. With all those bullets she was dodging, why would SHE sing THAT??? Nobody checked her and said "Do you know what this is about and why he wrote it?" I remember that shit like it was yesterday, the whole shock and awe of his being outed and the controversy behind "Listen Without Prejudice." She can't be that stupid. lol Maybe she's about to come out. "No One" was pretty gayish too

They could have told Alicia a lie about George Michael. That whole night was a set-up. Soon as Britney got off stage they got that comedian to dog her, they lied to Kanye West to get him perform and show up, and they possibly lied to Alicia to get her to perform a "coming out" song. They tried to play jokes on these artists obviously.

He came out in Europe with the release of Older which was after Listen Without Prejudice.

The drama with that was ditching the teen heartthrob image and being taken as a serious artist.

Freedom is about escaping his Wham! days and the Faith era, not his sexuality.
