Nice song. The video is a little melancholy I guess moreso in light of her current situation. Sheesh, her expression makes me want to cry.

I actually like the long hair on her.

I like the song, but I wish JS would stretch a little bit. Her songs are too formulaic.

spoken word - check
references to how good her coochie is - check

I don't like the long, cheap wig/weave she's wearing in the video. lol

Here’s a quick recap: I like her hair in most shots and not in others.

She said this album is supposed to be a lot of things including erotic and that she's not dwelling in the demise of her relationshiop. However, this could be the make it or break it for me if it’s not slamming. I know what you mean about her being formulaic.

I see there’s also a clip of the live performance of The Real Thing which she performed when I last saw and was pretty good but reminds me a little of Hate On Me in a way.

That's basically what I said. wink

nod And I guess she's gonna keep the "Words and Sounds, Vol. whatever" subtitles going too! lol

I like it, but maybe not enough to pick up the CD. I'll have to look around and see if I can preview any more of it. wink

It's interesting that she would say that she's not going to dwell on the demise of her relationship, when the first 2 songs seem like they are about the breakup.

But yeah, I know what you mean about this being the make it or break it for you. I feel the same way. I wasn't feeling the last album at all.

I haven't checked out 'The Real Thing' clip yet. I did watch her live performance of 'Hate On Me', which was good, eventhough I don't like the song.

btw...here's an org tip: copy your long post before clicking the post response button. If you forget to copy before clicking the button and it seems like your post is not going to go through, do a quick copy of the post before the 'page can not be found' page comes up. I had to do the latter for this post...lol

Yeah, I am going to have to listen to a preview of the album before I purchase it too, especially after her last album. lol

You know, normally I do write the post on 'paper' first then paste it in but that time I didn't do it. doh!

I'm not sure if the first songs are about the break up. Hate On Me is about people in general who get hated on by others for whatever reason. At least that's what she said. The Real Thing is about real music, real lyrics and real stories. This last song, My Love, I just figured it was a story but the emotions behind it are real because they all stem from love and heartache.

There are 16 tracks I think so I think a couple may deal with it but it won't be the theme of the album.
